Here’s a quick note from Candy:

Happy New Year and New Catalog! I just want to let you know that my blog posts may be sparse for a couple weeks. I’ve been in bed with a bad back since Christmas. I can only get up for short periods of time. So I haven’t been able to make new projects to share with you, which feels worse than the back pain! I will hopefully be up and at ’em very soon. But in the meantime, please don’t give up on me! I appreciate your support for my small business very, very much!

Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons for IRBH

Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons for IRBH banner, stampin' Up! #stampcandy

It’s time for the InKing Royalty Blog Hop! This year’s Blog Hop themes have all been inspired by popular songs, and this month’s song is “Pretty Paper.” The main lyric is, “Pretty paper, pretty ribbon of blue.” As you might guess, our hop today is filled with projects that feature paper and ribbon. We have a wide variety of projects, and we’re excited to share our creations with you. After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list that you’ll find farther down. You can hear the song “Pretty Paper” by Roy Orbison at the base of this post.

For my card I chose what I think is one of the prettiest pieces of paper we carry right now. It’s from the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper, and it’s covered in lots of gorgeous flowers. I especially love the big pink peonies. I knew I wanted to use some of the brand new ribbon from the 2019 Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogs, so I chose a card stock color to coordinate with that. The Petal Pink/Whisper White 5/8″ Variegated Ribbon is from the Occasions catalog, and the Lemon Lime Twist ribbon is part of the Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack from the Sale-a-bration brochure. They will be available on January 3, 2019.

After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop on over to Pam Morris at Tap Tap Stamp. Scroll down to see the list of stops on the hop. Be sure to check out all of them. There’s a lot of talent in this group and you don’t want to miss any of it!

Here’s what I did:

Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:

  • Lemon Lime Twist card stock (CS) cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, then scored in half at 4-1/4″
  • Petal Parade Designer Series Paper (DSP) cut to 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″
  • Whisper White CS cut to 1-3/4″ x 3/4″ for the sentiment
  • Whisper White CS cut to 5-1/4″ x 4″ for the inside of the card base

Stamped with the Pretty Kitty stamp set:

  • front sentiment in Lemon Lime Twist ink onto the smallest piece of Whisper White CS
  • inside sentiment in Petal Pink ink onto the largest piece of Whisper White CS

Die cut using the Stitched Labels Framelits:

  • label from a scrap of Petal Pink CS

Assembled the card:

  • burnished the fold in the card base with a Bone Folder
  • Petal Pink ribbon adhered to the DSP layer and wrapped around the back, using Tear & Tape
  • Lemon Lime Twist ribbon adhered over the Petal Pink ribbon using Tear & Tape (I cut the Tear & Tape in half to create a long skinny piece for this skinny ribbon)
  • Petal Pink ribbon run under the adhered ribbons and tied in a bow, trimming the ends using Paper Snips
  • small sentiment glued onto the Petal Pink CS label
  • Petal Pink CS label adhered over the ribbons using Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Petal Pink ribbon adhered onto the largest Whisper White CS using Tear & Tape
  • Whisper White CS glued onto the inside of the card base

OnStage Orlando and some Sneak Peeks

Last week I was in Orlando, Florida, USA with about 6000 other Demonstrators for Stampin’ Up!’s 30th Anniversary Celebration. We received the 2019 Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-bration Brochure (you’re gonna love them!) We also received some of the new products and got to do some great Make & Take projects. Today I’m sharing some sneak peeks with you.

Here are the new catalogs:

I can only show you the covers right now. They go live January 3, 2019.

Here are some photos from OnStage:

The lighting is not great in many of the photos I took at OnStage, but it was the best I could do.

The Candy Hearts team has a new mascot. She had her photo taken with lots of people at OnStage. Here she is with Sara Douglass, CEO of Stampin’ Up!

These are the Candy Hearts who attended OnStage with me: l-r, Linda Krueger, Sandra Wilson, Judy Newsome, Susan Ballantine, and Missy Wiedeman.

We were all given a cute tool bag!

Bunny was so tired she fell asleep in her chair.

She slept well every night.

Brian King and I always have to get our signature selfies. One at my 5’2″ level…

…and one at his 6′ 5″ level.

Bunny got into the new Stampin’ Up! tote bag for a photo.

It has lost of sections and pockets.

Here are some of the great new products:

Here’s the beautiful Snowflake Showcase!

It’s available only in November, so get yours before it’s gone!

The Happiness Surrounds stamp set can be used all year long!

And the Snow is Glistening stamp set can be used every winter.

You get 20 dies in the Snowfall Thinlits set! 20!!! And they go with both stamp sets, so they can be used all year long.

Look at these adorable Snowflake Trinkets embellishments! They’re flat so they’re great for cards. I even made a pair of earrings!

Big on Birthdays Happy Birthday Card

Do you recognize the texture on this card? It’s the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It may not look like basket weave. That’s because I used the other side – the debossed side – of the card stock. I think it makes an interesting pattern that goes well with the lines in the sentiment font. The stamped images are from the Big On Birthdays stamp set. The last little glittery touches are from the Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes embellishments.

There’s less than a week left of Sale-A-Bration, which is the only way you can get this embossing folder. It comes in a bundle with the Blossoming Basket stamp set – the bundle is free with a $100 order. Check out the Sale-A-Bration items here.

Eclectic Expressions Polka Dot Thank You Card

Do you like experimenting with abstract patterns? Then the Eclectic Expressions stamp set is for you! Repeat, layer, and overlap images. For today’s card I decided to use only one of the pattern stamps, but I repeated it in three different colors. It’s such a simple card, but the textured dots bring it to life. Just change the colors and the sentiment, and this can be for anyone and any occasion.
