Stylized Birthday for a Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Are you wearing green today so you don’t get pinched? I was wondering how in the world that tradition ever got started, so of course I Googled it: “St. Patrick’s revelers thought wearing green made one invisible to leprechauns, fairy creatures who would pinch anyone they could see (anyone not wearing green). People began pinching those who didn’t wear green as a reminder that leprechauns would sneak up and pinch green-abstainers.” So there’s your history lesson for the day. You may think it odd that I’m posting a birthday card today instead of a St. Patrick’s Day card. Two reasons: …

3 Tiny Love Notes

As a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I get to attend wonderful events where I get new catalogs, see and play with new products, and order them, all before anyone else. Back in November, I attended such an event and got to make some lovely projects. Today I’m sharing one of those with you. Here’s what I made:     Here’s what I did: Each card is half a piece of Sending Love DSP, folded in half to make a 3″ x 3″ card. There is a 2-3/4″ square piece of Whisper White card stock glued onto the front of each one. …

Happy New Year Card/Box

Today I’m sharing a project that I presented at a stamping event in November, and that my downline requested we make at our next meeting. It’s a Sliding Treat Box with a Twist Pop-Up Panel Card attached. Here’s what I made:   2017 The card opens to show fireworks and a panel with 2017, and the box slides open to reveal the goodies inside.     I made the one for my presentation (above) to fit a package of Reese Cups. To simplify things, I made the one for our team meeting (below) the size of a standard …

Fa-La-La-La-La-La-La-Llama!

Sometimes silly little things bother me. For example, this sentiment from the Fa-la-la Friends stamp set says Fa-la-la-la-llama. Cute, right? But the song has more syllables than that! Scroll down for a simple way to add the missing Las.     Here’s what I made: These two cards are the same except for the two layers of Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the card stock layer underneath.   Here’s how I did it: The song has nine syllables. The stamp has six, so we need three more. The stamp has three (La-La-La) in the middle, so you just need to stamp those twice. …

Christmas Box o’ Tags

Today’s project is sort of a meta-gift. It’s basically gift wrap for gift wrap. Everyone needs tags for their gifts, right? I decorated this little box full of Christmas gift tags to give someone with a lot of gifts to wrap. Here’s what I made:     Here’s how I did it: The White Gift Boxes in the 2016 Holiday Catalog are 3″ x 3″ x 3″, the perfect size for so many small gifts. For this project I left the box as is, and decorated the clear acetate sleeve. I cut a piece of Presents & Pinecones Designer Series …

Mamie’s Gift

Our former neighbors have a little dog named Mamie. I get her a cute outfit each Christmas. This year I didn’t find anything I liked, except a little knit hat. I can’t wait to get a photo of her wearing it! Of course, the hat needed just the right gift wrap. Here’s what I made:   Here’s how I did it: For the box: The White Gift Boxes from this year’s Holiday Catalog are the perfect size for a small gift like this. They are 3″ x 3″ x 3″ and come with clear acetate sleeves. I cut 5 pieces …
