Peaceful Reflection Stamparatus Wreath Card

Today I’m finally getting around to posting a card with a Stamparatus wreath. I used two images from the Peaceful Reflections stamp set. The one I used as a flower is actually a butterfly, but when you stamp it around in a circle like this, you can make a wreath out of just about any image.

Here’s what I made:

Here’s what I did:

Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:

  • Pineapple Punch card stock (CS) cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, then scored in half at 4-1/4″
  • Optional: Whisper White CS cut to 5-1/4″ x 4″ for the inside of the card. Not needed because the Pineapple Punch card base is light enough to write on.

Die cut using the Layering Squares Framelits:

  • a piece of Whisper White CS using the largest plain square die
  • the same piece a second time, cutting it diagonally across the first cut
  • This created the template for the wreath.

Die cut using the Foliage Frame Framelits:

  • leafy frame from a scrap of Granny Apple Green CS

Stamped with the Peaceful Reflections stamp set:

  • sentiment in Granny Apple Green ink onto a scrap of Whisper White CS
  • butterfly/flower in Pineapple Punch ink onto the Whisper White CS die cut square, in a circle on the Stamparatus
  • leaf in Granny Apple Green ink onto the Whisper White CS die cut square, in a circle on the Stamparatus
  • NOTE: See the Stamparatus wreath technique below.

Die cut using the Layering Circles Framelits:

  • one scalloped circle from a scrap of Granny Apple Green CS
  • one slightly larger scalloped circle from a scrap of Whisper White CS
  • stamped wreath using a plain circle die

Cut using the Classic Label Punch:

  • sentiment

Cut using the 1″ Circle Punch:

  • center cut from the stamped circle

Assembled the card:

  • burnished the fold in the card base with a Bone Folder
  • stamped wreath glued onto the leafy frame
  • leafy frame glued onto the Granny Apple Green scalloped circle
  • Granny Apple Green scalloped circle glued onto the Whisper White scalloped circle
  • sentiment glued onto a scrap of Pineapple Punch CS, then trimmed around the edges with Paper Snips to create the mat
  • sentiment adhered over the stamped wreath using Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Whisper White Tulle Ribbon adhered to the front of the card base using Tear & Tape, or Snail, just in the center
  • Whisper White scalloped circle glued over the ribbon, onto the front of the card base

Here’s the Stamparatus Wreath Technique:

Create the template:

  • Die cut a square from a piece of card stock.
  • Turn the die 45 degrees and cut again, to make an 8 pointed star.
  • Stamparatus Wreath technique #stampcandy

Stamparatus Wreath technique #stampcandy

Stamp the wreath:

  • Place the template in the Stamparatus and hold in place with a magnet.
  • Lay the die cut square in the template.
  • Stamparatus Wreath technique #stampcandy
  • Line up one of the stamps with the square, then stamp.
  • Stamparatus Wreath technique #stampcandy
  • Move the square around to the next point, and stamp again. (I used darker ink in this example so you could see it better.)
  • Stamparatus Wreath technique #stampcandy
  • Continue all around until you’ve stamped it 8 times, once at each point.
  • At this point you can line up another stamp, or move the stamp you were using to another spot on the square. Then stamp another 8 times. You can keep adding layers like this as long as you want.
  • Stamparatus Wreath technique #stampcandy
  • Be sure to keep the template for future use.

Sweet Storybook Handmade Card

I got the idea for today’s card from the one on page 160 of the annual catalog. I used different colors, and a simpler card fold. The Sweet Storybook Bundle (Sweet Storybook stamp set and Storybook Scene Thinlits Dies) are adorable. Don’t let the creepy rat shapes throw you off – they’re just to fill in some shading on the cute mice. There’s also a stamp to fill in the top of the mushroom, but I used Stampin’ Blends Markers to color it in.

Here’s what I made:

Here’s what I did:

Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:

  • Shaded Spruce card stock (CS) cut to 4-1/4″ x 11″, then scored in half at 5-1/2″
  • Whisper White CS cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″

Stamped with the Sweet Storybook stamp set:

  • mice outlines in Basic Gray ink onto a scrap of Whisper White CS
  • mice filled in with Smoky Slate ink
  • NOTE: I went over the eyes using a size 01 Journaling Pen
  • leaf frame in Shaded Spruce ink onto a scrap of Soft Sea Foam CS
  • small flowers in Shaded Spruce ink onto the front of the card base
  • mushroom in Memento black ink onto the 4″ x 5-1/4″ Whisper White CS
  • sentiment in Flirty Flamingo and Lovely Lipstick (inked the stamp in Flirty Flamingo, then rolled the edges on a Lovely Lipstick ink pad) onto a 1″ strip of Whisper White CS

Die cut using the Storybook Scene Thinlits:

  • mice
  • leaf frame
  • hole in front of card base to fit the leaves around (it’s the odd looking die that doesn’t look like it goes with anything)

Cut using the Everyday Label Punch:

  • sentiment

Colored using Stampin’ Blends Markers:

  • mushroom in Flirty Flamingo and Lovely Lipstick

Colored using Stampin’ Write Markers:

  • areas around mushroom and around mice in Soft Sea Foam
  • mice ears and feet in Powder Pink

Assembled the card:

  • burnished the fold in the card base with a Bone Folder
  • leaves glued onto the front of the card base around the die cut hole
  • mice glued onto the inside of the front of the card base, so they show through the hole
  • Whisper White layer glued onto the inside of the card base
  • three pieces of Lovely Lipstick 1/8″ ribbon adheres to the front of the card base using Tear & Tape
  • adhered sentiment over the ribbon using Stampin’ Dimensionals (I cut two thin strips from the edge of a sheet of Dimensionals, and put them along the top and bottom of the sentiment piece.)

Time For Tea Decorated Copper Tin

Today I’m sharing one of the projects my stamp club members made at our July gathering, a copper tea tin decorated with the Tea Room Suite of products.

Here’s what we made:

Stampin' Up! Time for Tea stamp set and Spot of Tea framelit dies were used to decorate this copper tea tin by Candy Ford of Stamp Candy

Here’s what I did:

Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:

  • Tea Room Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) cut to 12″ x ___

Stamped with the Time For Tea stamp set:

  • sentiment in Calypso Coral ink onto a scrap of Very Vanilla card stock (CS)
  • cup in Calypso Coral ink onto a scrap of Calypso Coral CS

Die cut using the Spot of Tea Framelit Dies:

  • sentiment and cup

Applied Tea Room Copper Vinyl Stickers:

  • small design on cup
  • long design onto the front of the tin lid (I cut the sticker to the correct length.)

Decorated the tin:

  • DSP wrapped around the tin and adhered using Tear & Tape (I put some at each end and a tiny piece in the very middle
  • cup glued onto the sentiment piece
  • cup/sentiment adhered to the DSP (covering the seam where the two DSP ends met) using Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • laced Coastal Cabana ribbon through the hole on the left side of the sentiment, ran both ends around the back, laces one end through the hole on the right side, and tied a bow
