Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for June. This month we are excited to show off new Stampin’ Up! products from the just released 2015 – 2016 annual catalog. We hope you find great inspiration from the projects. Get your wish list ready!
You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Lisa Ann Bernard at Queen B Creations, number 5 on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.
There are sooooooo many new products I want to try, and it was very difficult to choose, but I finally settled on the new Corrugated Paper. I also used Thick Whisper White card stock, Glassine Sheets, Metallic Foil Doilies, Gold Metallic Thread, Expressions Natural Elements, and White Perfect Accents – all new products. I didn’t need to use a stamp set; the wooden words provided all the sentiment I needed for these two cards.
I cut two pieces of Corrugated Paper to 4″ x 5-1/4″, then I cut them both diagonally, from corner to corner, into four pieces. I used the side pieces of one with the top and bottom pieces of the other. That way, on one card all the lines are going around the center, and on the other card the lines are going toward the center. I glued the four pieces to a piece of scrap card stock first, then embellished them and adhered them to the card base. Both card bases are the new Thick Whisper White card stock.
TIP: The rotary attachment on the Stampin’ Trimmer works better than the regular cutting blade on the Corrugated Paper. The regular blades work wonderfully on card stock, etc., but the rotary cutter goes deep enough to cut through the thicker paper.
For the first card, I wrapped gold thread around the card front, then adhered a gold doily, then the wooden word, and five of the white accents. The tiniest white dots are from a White Uni-Ball Signo Gel Pen. Between the card base and card front is a mat cut from a Gold Foil Sheet.
Here you can see more of the 3D elements.
For the second card, I cut a piece of the new Glassine Sheets to 3-5/8″ x 4-7/8″, then cut it diagonally into four pieces as I did the Corrugated Paper. I glued down these pieces along the outer edges. I cut four pieces of regular Whisper White card stock into 1/4″ strips, then adhered them to all four edges, overlapping at the corners. I used my Paper Snips to cut diagonally through both pieces at each corner to create a miter. Then I curled back the Glassine pieces and tucked them under the edges, adhering with a tiny dab of glue.
The wooden word is glued directly to the Corrugated Paper. The three Itty Bitty Accents Epoxy Sticker stars are self adhesive. They show up much better in person than they do in the photos; perhaps I should have punched out white stars to put under them? Anyway, I lined them up to represent a shooting star, just like the person who will receive this card!
I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing these cards as much as I enjoyed making them. Scroll to the bottom of this post to see the products I used, and to purchase them yourself.

Here’s what I used. Click on the images below for more information and to purchase.

LOVE the look of the corrugated cardstock and how you designed it! Great cards!
Thanks, Deb. I think I’m gonna use the Corrugated paper a lot!
I love all the texture and interest in these cards! Gorgeous!
Thanks, Denise. I like the contrast between the rough elements (Corrugated Paper, wooden words,…) and the smooth elements (Glassine Sheets, White Perfect Accents,…)
Fantastic card and use of the corrugated paper, Candy!
Thanks, Tricia!
Unusual and so appealing… well done.
Thanks, Katy!
The corrugated paper with the glassine paper and the gold embellishments go together to make an elegant card. Of course your designs are so new and fresh. I always learn from your posts!
Oh, you’re so sweet! Thanks, Judy!
Candy – these are fantastic. Now I need the corrugated paper! The glassine is on the list!
Jane, I know what you mean. I’m so glad I got them both.
So creative! I love your projects! i did buy the corrugated paper and now I know what to do with it. 🙂
Thanks, Beth! I can’t wait to see what you do with it.
What a perfectly GORGEOUS project, Candy! I love how you’ve used that corrugated paper – pretty amazing!
Thanks, Brian!
Wow, Candy, both cards are great but I really like the first one. You’ve done SO much there, but it looks clean and simple! Agree with Brian, pretty amazing with the corrugated paper! Wow, wow!
Thanks, Peggy! That’s exactly what I was going for! It’s my fave of the two, too.
What a fabulous way to use that corrugated paper! Love this card.
Thanks, Lynn!
Candy, these cards are so much fun! The “congrats” card with the glassine sheets reminds me of opening a gift. Love it.
Thanks, Shawn!
