I’m sure by now you’ve heard of the #imbringingbirthdaysback movement. Shannon West, who works at Stampin’ Up’s home office in Utah, decided that she had had enough of digital birthday greetings, like those you receive on Facebook. She created a post saying that she would love to send you a handmade birthday card if you would just send her your name, address, and birthday. That sparked what has now become a world wide movement. She received thousands of requests – so many that she needs an assistant to help her keep up! Stampin’ Up! now sells a stamp designed by Shannon that says #imbringingbirthdaysback.
I have been trying to do my part by making birthday (and anniversary) cards for the people in my life. I have cards made and envelopes addressed through mid-August. I have the mailing date written on each envelope where the stamp will cover it. And I use the #imbringingbirthdaysback stamp on the backs of the envelopes.
I even bought some stamps at the Post Office that say Celebrate! How appropriate is that?
Today’s card is one I’m sending later this year. It’s very festive, don’t you think?
All stamped images are from the Party Wishes stamp set.
On a piece of Whisper White card stock, I stamped the sentiment in Mint Macaron, and the balloon string in Melon Mambo. On a separate piece of Whisper White card stock, I stamped the cupcakes in Crushed Curry, the balloon in Melon Mambo, and the candle in Mint Macaron. I used the Party Punch Pack to cut the shapes, then I adhered them with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love how the candle fits perfectly over the I in BIRTHDAY – I cut a sliver from a Stampin’ Dimensional to adhere it.
I glued the stamped piece onto a piece of It’s My Party Designer Series Paper, then tied a piece of Mint Macaron/Basic Black twine from the Baker’s Twine Combo Pack around the whole thing. I attached this panel to the Crushed Curry card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
