It’s easy to get excited about the new Holiday catalog and forget about all the wonderful items in the Annual catalog. Today’s card is a reminder that birthdays and other events also happen during the holiday season.

Here’s how I did it:

The card base is Thick Whisper White card stock.

The next layer is a piece of Irresistibly Floral Designer Series Paper that I colored with Stampin’ Write Markers in Soft Sky, Island Indigo, Bermuda Bay, Tempting Turquoise, Marina Mist, and Night of Navy. I used a paper towel to rub all the ink off the shiny resist pattern of the paper. I glued this layer to the card base. (You could also use sponges or sponge daubers to color the paper, but I liked the effect I got by swiping the markers back and forth across the paper.)

The Stylized Birthday sentiment is stamped in Island Indigo ink onto regular Whisper White card stock, then cut with a die from the Lots of Labels Framelits. I adhered this to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
