foxy mouse big day card a

Don’t you just love the Foxy Friends Bundle? I think you can make just about anything with it. For today’s card, I decided to make a sweet little mouse.

Here’s how I did it:

I punched the pieces out of Smoky Slate card stock. I used the head, the body, the tail, and I cut two of the tail tip for the mouse’s hands.

I trimmed the ears off the head, stamped the face in Black Memento ink, then drew on whiskers with a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker. There is a face with whiskers in the Foxy Friends stamp set, but I thought it was too cat-like.

I used Paper Snips to cut along the length of the tail to make it skinny.

For the ears, I used the 1/2″ Circle Punch to cut two pieces of Pink Pirouette card stock, and the 3/4″ Circle Punch to cut two pieces of Smoky Slate card stock. I glued the pink pieces onto the slate pieces.

I used a Sponge Dauber to ink the edges of the ears and head with Smoky Slate ink, to give it a little more dimension.

I used the Layering Circle Framelits Dies to cut a piece of Whisper White and a piece of Pink Pirouette card stock. I glued the white onto the pink. Then I glued on the tail, body, and ears. I adhered the head with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the banner from the Birthday Banners stamp set in Smoky Slate ink onto Whisper White card stock, and the sentiment from the same stamp set inside the banner in Blushing Bride ink. I cut it out with the coordinating die from the Bunch of Banners Framelits Dies.

I wrapped the hands around the banner and glued them in place. Then I adhered it to the front of the mouse with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut a piece of Smoky Slate Designer Series Paper to 5-1/4″ x 4″ and adhered a piece of White Organza Ribbon with Fast Fuse Adhesive, wrapping the ends to the back. Then I adhered it to the Pink Pirouette card base. Then I glued on the circle with the mouse.

Oops, I didn’t get a photo of the inside of the card, but I stamped another sentiment from the Birthday Banners stamp set, “eat all the cake,” in Smoky Slate ink directly onto the card base.
