My adorable grandniece was born on Christmas Eve. Since family members live far and wide, it’s impossible for everyone to get together for her birthday proper, so we celebrate her half birthday every June. Today is her 4-1/2 birthday party!!!
Her dad, my nephew, has always been into Lego’s. I mean really into Lego’s – he has a Lego room. And it’s one of the things father and daughter do together. My birthday gift to her this year is a Lego set they can assemble. That’s why I decided to make her a Lego themed birthday card.
The bricks (they’re not called blocks!) are easy to make. I cut card stock to 1″ x 2″ pieces. I punched the same colors with the 1/4″ Handheld Circle Punch and glued eight onto each brick. I used four bricks as a border at the top of the card.
The balloon background paper is from the Cherry on Top DSP Stack.
Three words: HAPPY (cut with the Hello You Thinlits die set,) BIRTHDAY (part of a stamp from the Boys Will Be Boys stamp set,) and KIRBY (Back to Basics Alphabet stamp set.)
I made the Cucumber Crush envelope (paper from the 2015-2017 In Color Envelope Paper) with the Envelope Punch Board. I cut the paper so the stripes would be vertical on the flap instead of diagonal. Check back to see how I did that.
Here’s what I used:
Thanks for stopping by today, and Sweet Stamping!
So cute! I love the Legos.
Thanks, Linda!
What a fun way to incorporate color and texture! Happy birthday, Kirby!
Thanks, Brian! That’s exactly what I was thinking. (wink)
Kirby had a great birthday party with a bubble machine, squirt guns, water balloons, and a slip and slide. And plenty of squealing little girls.
