I recently needed a thank you card for a man. Naturally I didn’t want anything too froufrou. Clean lines and masculine hues were the ticket. This is what I came up with – a super simple card that you can make in a matter of minutes.
The 6″ x 6″ Island Indigo card base has 5 layers of card stock (Whisper White, Soft Sky, and Island Indigo) on the front, each one 1/2″ smaller than the one below it. The smallest (3-1/2″) Whisper White piece is stamped in Island Indigo with a sentiment from the Big On You stamp set. The envelope was made using the Envelope Punch Board and a piece of Island Indigo paper from the Regals Backgrounds Designer Series Paper Stack.
It’s funny how one idea accidentally morphs into another. I had planned to center all the layers on the card front. After cutting them, I stacked them, lined up in one corner, to make sure the sizes looked right, as I always do. I decided I liked the way it looked, so that’s how I glued the down the layers.
I thought about gluing a piece of Whisper White card stock inside the card to write on, but decided to write directly on the Island Indigo with a White Signo Uni-Ball Gel Pen. I think the white ink on a sea of Island Indigo was much more striking visually.
Thanks for stopping by today, and Sweet Stamping!
