Recently a friend of mine took care of our three cats while we were away. I wanted to make her a special thank you card, and this is what I came up with. It’s three little kitties having a good time playing amongst the branches. I used the branch image from the Best Birds Bundle and the cats from the Pretty Kitty stamp set.

You’ll recognize two of the kitties right away. The white one is from the image at bottom left with the butterfly on its tail. The tabby is the image at right center. I placed the tabby in front of the gray one in the hopes that I could just use the gray head, which is from the image at bottom right in the flower pot. But it really needed at least part of a body showing. So the body is from the one at bottom left again. I only used as much as I needed to show. It looks almost like it’s standing on the tabby’s back.

The card base is Old Olive card stock and has a Basic Black card stock layer underneath the piece from the Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack.

I stamped all the images in Basic Black ink: the branches onto Crumb Cake card stock and the kitties onto Whisper White. I cut the branches with the corresponding die and I cut the kitties with my Paper Snips.

I used a sponge dauber and my Old Olive ink pad to color the leaves.

I used Stampin’ Write Markers to color in the kitties: Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Smoky Slate, and Pink Pirouette, with Bermuda Bay and Marina Mist bows.

I laid out the pieces how I wanted them on the card, then glued them together . I them attached the whole branch/kitty piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals and Foam Adhesive Strips. Most people think the Strips are for shaker cards, and they are, but they’re also wonderful for skinny pieces that you want to raise. like these branches.

I would usually put a sentiment on the front of the card, but I felt the imagery was sufficient this time. My sentiments are in my handwritten thank you note on the inside.
