Progress is being made!

Wow, I can’t believe how fast this is going. I went to Ikea yesterday morning to get 2 Kallax units, a Billy bookcase, and an Alex unit. A couple friends came over and had it all put together by the time I got home from my afternoon appointment. Here are some photos of them working hard reassembling a couple of drawer units I had in my old craft space. I’m so fortunate to have such great friends!

I am very excited about the progress!

Of course, there’s still a lot I need/want to do. I’ll get some cubes for the east wall – the kind you find at Michaels. I want to paint the black filing cabinet and the Stamp N Storage pieces all white.

I HAVE to get more light. I never realized how dark that room was until I sat down at my craft desk last night. I’m thinking of having can lights put in the ceiling. Does anyone have any lighting suggestions or recommendations?

Lana, my organizer, suggested putting a big bulletin board over the craft table. The Stamp n Storage pieces cover the bottom part of the painting, and we had to take down one sconce to accommodate the bookcase.

I’d really love to hear your ideas! Please comment below, or email me at candy@stampcandy.net.

Tomorrow I’ll return with my regularly scheduled programming………..You know, a card. I’ll post a card.

Thanks for stopping by today, and Sweet Stamping!

Good News & Bad News

The bad news – I apologize to all my followers who received an email this morning with a link to a post that doesn’t exist. I discovered there was something in the post that I’m not actually allowed to post yet, so I had to take it down. Oops! Thanks for the heads up, Brian! I will post it again in a few days.

The good news – I’m getting a new stamping studio! I’m taking over a sitting area in our condo that never gets used. (We always hang out in the living room with recliners, TV, and a fireplace.)

How did this come about? Recently I was complaining about how small my studio is. I keep purging stuff but still there just isn’t enough room. My husband then suggested I expand into the sitting area. He said he’d prefer it be used for something rather than just looking pretty. Well, what could I say to that except, of course, “Okay!” The one thing he wanted was to move the fold out sofa (the closest thing we have to a guest room) from his office to my old studio. Done! Now when we have overnight guests, hubby can get into his office when he gets up at 0’dark thirty instead of having to wait until they wake up.

Most of the sitting room furniture is out. I still have to figure out what to do with a few pieces. My wonderful organizer, Lana Alsobrook, came over yesterday and we now have a plan. I’m going to Ikea today to get some of the new storage pieces. Some others will have to be ordered. The rest will be harvested from my old studio. My craft table has already been brought downstairs.

The sitting area is adjacent to the dining area where I host Stamp Club, classes, etc. Now when folks come over to stamp, I won’t have to go up and down the stairs every time I remember something I need. It’ll be right there.

Here are some before shots with tape on the floor:

There are French doors to the patio just a few feet to the left of the window.

My craft table is our old dining table. When we got our current dining set, I gave away the chairs, but I just had to keep that sturdy wood table.

I’ll post more photos later to show the progress. I already had a lot to be grateful for this Thanksgiving. Now there’s even more!

Thanks for stopping by today, and Happy Stamping!
