Today’s project is another birthday card, but it could be for almost any occasion simply by changing the sentiment.
I’m not sure why I’m so crazy about this technique, but I love matching up the same pattern in different colors. I did it on yesterday’s card, which you can see here. Today I used two colors of the same pattern from the Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper stack, one is Blushing Bride and the other is Crumb Cake. I lined up the patterns of the two pieces and cut them together. This way the patterns still line up, and you can make two cards, one with the Crumb Cake on top, and the other with the Blushing Bride on top.

I stamped the sentiment from the Rose Wonder stamp set in Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake inks onto Whisper White card stock and cut it with the Extra Large Oval Punch. {Since this is a photopolymer stamp set and you can see right through the stamp, it’s easy to ink up just part of the stamp in one color, then the other, without having to mask it.) I then stamped a couple of small images from the Bloomin’ Love stamp set around the edges. I added an enamel glitter dot from the Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit to the center of the flower.
All the layers are glued together in this order: Crumb Cake card base, Blushing Bride card stock, Whisper White CS, and the two pieces of DSP. I adhered the oval with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Notice how I made sure the part of the oval over the Crumb Cake DSP is stamped in Blushing Bride, and the part of the oval over the Blushing Bride DSP is stamped in Crumb Cake. Yes, that’s on purpose!
Here’s what I used:

This is a really pretty card Candy. The subtle layers provide nice depth and the color combination is nice.
Perfect matching of these patterns and pairing of these colors. So fun!
