Thankful for Pals Blog Hop

Pals Nov blog hop badge

Welcome to the November Pals Blog Hop, we are thankful you stopped by.  This month we are showcasing projects that show our thanks, including both thank you and Thanksgiving themed projects.

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from 33. Nancy Gleason at My Stampin Space on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing projects.

Even though it isn’t even Thanksgiving yet, I’m in a Christmas mood. I’ve been listening to the Christmas music channel – Perry Como, Andy Williams, Bing Crosby, et al are my favorites – and thinking about my gift list. So for this project I decided to combine the Thanks theme of the blog hop with the Christmas theme in my head.

We all send thank you notes for our Christmas gifts, right? At least, we should. We all know how much time, effort and expense can go into gift giving, and we’d all like to know the recipients appreciate our pains. So here’s a little something to let folks know just how much you appreciate their thoughtfulness and generosity.

Tap Tap Tap – I think I could come up for a use for this typewriter on almost every card I make. I love the versatility of it. And the fact that it’s so darned cute. Here I’m using it to show my thanks.

Pop! – I love me some Stampin’ Dimensionals! They add just that little something extra. I’ve used them here to raise the entire circle panel off the card.

Here’s a close up of the typewriter. I like the shininess of the silver embossing powder. I added a little more depth and shading with my Light Smoky Slate Blendabilities Marker. For the white paper, I snipped the area away with my Paper Snips – the most fantastic little detail scissors I’ve ever found – and adhered a piece of Whisper White card stock behind it. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to get the thank you stamp placement just right. Of course, if (unlike me) you think a few steps ahead, you can stamp the sentiment, then line it up when you adhere it to the back.

I feel I should explain that the typewriter shows up much better in person. I’m afraid it blends into the Smoky Slate background a bit too much in the photos.

Versatility – you could easily change the colors to use this thank you card any time of year.

I can’t wait to see what the other Pals have in store! The next stop is 2. Angie Valle-Peters at Paperluxuries on the Pals Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting and I hope to see you next month.

Get Turnt Up as SOC Turns 10!!

Can you believe it? Scraps of Color is 10 years old!! So we’re celebrating with a blog hop! But not your typical blog hop. We’re kicking it up a notch and getting Turnt Up!

I first met Tiare “ClassyGirl” when someone took me to one of her crop several years ago. I always have so much fun at Tiare’s events. We crop and dance and have contests and shop and dance some more. I’ve been a member of SOC for about a year. I really enjoy everyone’s contributions to the group.

The theme of today’s hop is celebrating. I decided to celebrate SOC’s 10th birthday with a simple birthday card but in fun, girlie Turnt Up colors.

SOC BLOG HOP PINK BLUE BD CARD

I used Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White cardstock; Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise ink; Melon Mambo 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon; the Note Tag punch; About the Label stamp set; Brights Candy Dots; and Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Let me know if you need a free Stampin’ Up! catalog!

Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome to the October Pals Blog Hop where we are celebrating an early Halloween and Harvest season. This month we are sharing Halloween and fall projects using our wonderful Stampin’ Up! supplies.

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from #32 Rae Harper-Burnet at WildWestPaperArts.com on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

 Halloween candy corn box

Wouldn’t you just love to receive some little treats in this adorable treat box?

The candy corn paper is one of my favorites in the Motley Monsters DSP (135819.) I cut the box using the Curvy Keepsakes Box Thinlits Die (135853) – I just can’t stop making these awesome boxes! The shape lends itself to sooooo many projects.

Using the And Many More stamp set (134276) I stamped Happy Halloween on matching Tangerine Tango cardstock (111349) and punched it out with the Ticket Duo Builder punch (126883.)

But the real trick here is the hanging tag. I punched out Whisper White (100730,) Crushed Curry (131199,) and Tangerine Tango (111349) card stock with the Tree punch (135859.) I used my Paper Snips (103579) to cut the top 1/3 off the Crushed curry tree and the top 2/3 off the Tangerine Tango tree. I layered the three together, then used my Paper Snips to cut off the tree trunk. I used the Project Life Corner punch (135246) on the corners, then finished them off with my Paper Snips. I punched the hole with the 1/8″ Circle punch (134365) and attached it to the box with three colors of Baker’s Twine (Basic Black 134576, Tangerine Tango 134578, Crushed Curry 134586) braided together.

I hope you enjoy making this treat box as much as I did!

InKing Royalty Blog Hop

BLOG HOP BANNER - FINAL

Welcome to the very first InKing Royalty Blog Hop.  For our very first hop, we’re excited to share projects that showcase the fun of the holidays – from Halloween through Christmas, this certainly is the season to be jolly!

You may have started the Blog Hop here or may have hopped over from Deb Cozzone at Deb Cozzone’s Stamping Zone.  After you read my post, I  hope you’ll hop over to the next.  If you get off track at any point during the blog hop, there’s a complete list of participants at the end of this post.

I’m very excited because my Stamp Club will meet for the first time today. I thought I’d share with you one of the projects I have prepared. Wouldn’t you love to get some sweets in this little Halloween treat box?

Halloween treat box 2

Halloween treat box 3

Halloween treat box 1

It was so simple! I began with the Tiny Treat Boxes from the Holiday Catalog. They are 2″ x 2″ x 2″. I covered it with various pieces of Motley Monsters DSP – all the squares were cut to 1-7/8″ x 1-7/8″ and the circles were punched with the 1-3/4″ circle punch. I used the 3/4″ circle punch to cut around the crescent on the front, just above “Happy Halloween.” The sentiment is from the Good Greetings stamp set – stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on a piece of Motley Monsters DSP, punched with the Modern Label punch, and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used Baker’s Twine in three colors – Basic Black, Tangerine Tango, and Bermuda Bay – to match the DSP. That’s all there is to it!

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Pam Morris at Tap Tap Stamp.  You certainly won’t want to miss any of these projects.
