It’s time for another CYCI Color Challenge:

Here’s my red, white, and blue project:

First I folded a piece of Night of Navy card stock in half. Then I cut it with the largest die from the Stars Framelits, making sure part of the fold was inside the star. I cut a Night of Navy star the same size and glued it to the front of the card.
I used the second largest star die to cut a Real Red star and a Whisper White star.
I attached the Real Red star to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped on the Whisper White star with the Confetti Celebration stamp set (Real Red sentiment and Night of Navy stars) then glued it to the inside of the card.

Confetti Celebration
I stamped the YAY star image from the Confetti Celebration stamp set in Versamark ink onto Whisper White card stock, then embossed it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I used the third largest star die to cut it, centering the gold image. I then attached it to the Real Red Star with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

It’s time for another sketch challenge at canyoucaseit.com:

Here’s what I made:

The card base is Crushed Curry card stock and the card front is a piece of the brand new Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper. This paper is black and white on one side, with Melon Mambo on the other side.
I used the Banners Framelits to cut the Watermelon Wonder card stock banner.
I used the Greetings Thinlits to cut the sentiment and the new Swirly Scribbles Thinlits to cut the wreath, both from Cucumber Crush card stock.
I used the Pansy Punch to cut two Blushing Bride flowers, and the Petite Petals Punch to cut two Cherry Cobbler flowers. I used my Piecing Mat the the round bottom of an Aqua Painter to curve the flowers, then stacked them up with glue. I used the 1/4″ Circle Punch to cut the flower’s center from Crushed Curry card stock.
Here’s what I used:

It’s color challenge time at canyoucaseit.com! I was a little concerned when I saw this week’s colors. Even though they’re opposites on the color wheel, therefore complimentary colors, I’ve always had an aversion to purple and yellow together. I just wasn’t sure where to go with this.

When this happens, I pull a piece of card stock in each color and just ponder them. If I don’t feel inspired, then I start looking at stamps and tools for inspiration. That’s how this card came together.

I pulled out the new Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies and knew I had to play with them immediately. I cut So Saffron card stock three times with the long wavy die, then glued them onto a piece of Wisteria Wonder card stock. I glued that onto the Basic Black card base.
So I had my base, but what about doodahs? A sentiment? I looked at my dies again and saw the Hello You Thinlits, which I love. I cut “thanks” from Basic Black card stock. I felt it needed a lighter touch, so I cut another “thanks” from Whisper White card stock. Now I had “thanks thanks.” Hmmm, it still needed something.
I pulled out the One Big Meaning stamp set and inked up the word “kindly” in Black Memento ink, then stamped it onto Whisper White card stock. The Extra Large Oval Punch fit it perfectly. After gluing the two die cut words, I attached the oval with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I wanted to use Candy Dots because 1) I love them and 2) they are retiring at the end of May. So one in Wisteria Wonder dots the “i” and three in So Saffron fill in the gap at the top of the card.
I made it through a purple and yellow project. Woohoo!

It’s Sketch Challenge time over at canyoucaseit.com. Here is this week’s sketch:

With such a simple sketch, I went back and forth between a simple card design and really dressing it up. What to do, what to do? This is what I settled on:

It’s a simple card design, but it’s dressed up by the English Garden Designer Series Paper and the Night of Navy Seam Binding ribbon.
I put a line of Fast Fuse Adhesive across the front of the card, then added the ribbon, gathering it in one section. I used Fast Fuse to adhere the sentiment as well.

Happy Sunday! It’s time for another CYCI color challenge:

Here’s what I came up with. The gold looks a bit dull in this photo…

…so here it is with the light reflecting off the gold embossing.

I’m so excited to get to use one of the brand new stamp sets from the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog. It’s called Moroccan Nights. It will be available in clear mount (#141718, $18) and in wood mount (#141715, $25) on June 1, when the new catalog goes live.
I think this medallion stamp is spectacular. I used the entire image in the center, then just a bit of it on each corner.
I cut Whisper White card stock to three sizes: 4″ x 5-1/4″, 3″ x 4-1/4″, and 2″ x 3-1/4″. I stacked them up, centering one on top of the other, and attaching them together with just a bit of Snail adhesive. I dusted them with my Embossing Buddy, stamped the image in Versamark ink, covered it in gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder, and melted the powder with my Heat Tool.
I pulled the card stock pieces apart, being careful not to tear them – that’s why I used Snail instead of something like Fast Fuse. I matted the two smaller pieces with Night of Navy card stock, used Stampin’ Dimensionals between the layers, and glued the whole thing to a Night of Navy card base.
I didn’t want to break up this gorgeous design, so I decided the sentiment should go on the inside. What I haven’t yet decided is who will receive this card, so I’ll select the sentiment when the time comes.
The new catalog will also have products to coordinate with the Moroccan Nights stamp set, including Moroccan Designer Series Paper and Moroccan Designer Washi Tape! I can’t wait!!!
Here are the current items I used:

I love Sundays, because I get to play along with a new CYCI challenge. Here is this week’s sketch challenge…

…and here’s my card.

I’ve used some old products and some new, some retiring and some not out yet. (That’s just one perk of being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator – you get the new stuff before anyone else!)
The card base is Sweet Sugarplum card stock – one of the 2016-2018 In-Colors.
The squares are cut with the new Layering Squares Framelits Dies from four different colors of card stock: Blackberry Bliss (retiring,) Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum, and Elegant Eggplant.
The striped piece is Playful Palettes Washi Tape. It was just translucent enough to see the squares underneath, so I put it on a strip of Whisper White card stock before adhering it to the card.
The button is from the Regals Designer Buttons, and is attached with Glue Dots. The twine is Whisper White Baker’s Twine that I dyed with a couple drops from the Sweet Sugarplum Re-inker and a few drops of water.
The sentiment from the Sweet Stack stamp set is stamped in Elegant Eggplant directly onto the Sweet Sugarplum card base. This stamp set is being carried over to the new catalog!

Paper Pumpkin is a great way to spend 30-60 minutes each month relaxing, crafting, and hanging out with friends. Each month you receive a box full of goodies in the mail. It contains everything you need to complete that month’s project including ink pad(s) and an exclusive stamp set (you might need scissors and adhesive.) A clear acrylic block comes in your first kit to use with all your Paper Pumpkin stamps in the future.

When you subscribe month-to-month, the kits are $19.95 per month, which includes shipping. When you buy a prepaid subscription of 6- or 12-months, you save money! See the options here.

Be sure to check out the retiring products here, many of which are discounted up to 50%. Most items are only available while current supplies last, and none of them will be available after May 31. Some things have already sold out, so don’t wait!
