I made these little Easter Baskets as favors for each place setting at the March Candy Hearts team meeting. You can read about the gathering here. I used Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper and the blue bows from the coordinating Embellishment Kit. These go together super fast.
Here’s what I made:

Here’s what I did:
Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:
- Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper (DSP) to 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″, then scored at 1-1/4″ and 2-1/2″ on one side, then rotated it 90 and scored again at 1-1/4″ and 2-1/2″
- DSP to 3/4″ x 4″ strip
Cut with Paper Snips:
- two score lines on each of two opposite sides
- Diagram: solid lines = cut, and dotted lines = fold

Assembled the basket:
- folded up the three sections along one of the cut sides
- angled in the two outer pieces and glued to the center piece
- repeated on the other side
- glued handle to inside of basket on each side
- adhered a bow to the basket with Mini Glue Dots
- filled with crinkly gift bag filler and Easter candies by Cadbury and Lindt

Mar 25, 2017 | Boxes, Events, Gallery, Gift Wrap, Gifts, Retiring Products, Sale-A-Bration, Swaps |
Today I’m sharing my 3D Swap from our March Candy Hearts team meeting, which you can read about here. It’s really super simple. I used the Curvy Keepsake Box Framelits to make the box, and added a vellum butterfly. That’s it! Well, other than filling them with chocolates. Aren’t they pretty? They look like the butterflies are about to fly away with them.
Here’s what I made:

Here’s what I did:
Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:
- 2015-2017 In Color Designer Series Paper (DSP) to 6″ x 12″
- Vellum card stock (CS) to 3-1/2″ wide strips
- cut each die-cut butterfly in half, up through the body*
Die cut using the Curvy Keepsake Box Framelits:
- DSP cut with the box die (2 per box)
Die cut using the Butterflies Thinlits:
- *butterflies from Vellum – one per box
Assembled the box:
- two box pieces glued together at the bottom
- glued a butterfly half on each side of the slot, as shown – make sure this part gets closed last
- close three sides of the box, fill with goodies, then close the fourth part with the butterfly

I made this faceted box last fall, I think, and I’m just now getting around to posting it. It’s much easier to make than it looks. I don’t remember where I learned to make these – there are lots of different tutorials out there. And they’re all adorable! If I had to guess, I’d say it probably started with Sam Hammond, a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator in the UK. She makes lots of little boxes.
Here’s what I made:

Here’s what I did:
See diagrams below, and click on the images to see them full size.
Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:
- Daffodil Delight card stock (CS) cut to 7-7/8″ x 11-1/2″ (now stamp before scoring)
- measuring along the short side, score at 2-1/2″, 4-5/8″, 7-1/8″
- rotate 90° counterclockwise, so the skinniest section is at the top, then score only down to the second score line (cross one score line and stop at the second) at 2-1/2″, 5″, 7-1/2″, 10″
- rotate 180° and score only down to the first score line at 1/4″, 2-3/4″, 5-1/4″, 7-3/4″, 10-1/4″
Scored using Stylus and a ruler:
- diagonal lines as shown in diagram
All lines in this 1st diagram are scored, then the solid lines are cut, and the dotted lines are left intact.

Cut with my Paper Snips (see diagram below):
- all areas in grey cut away
- cut through all solid score lines, and leave dotted score lines intact
- fold all score lines and burnish with a Bone Folder
This 2nd diagram shows where to cut, and where to adhere sides of box together.

Stamped all over the CS (before scoring and cutting):
- flourish from the First Sight stamp set in Blushing Bride ink
- speckles from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set in Pool Party ink
Punched:
- flower from Blushing Bride CS with the Pansy Punch
- flower from Pool Party CS with the Petite Petals Punch
- circle from Daffodil Delight CS with the 1/4″ Circle Punch (now I think I would use an enamel shape instead of a punched circle)
Assembled the faceted box:
- applied adhesive to the triangle in yellow and stuck it to the inside of the green area (see diagram)
- all four sides of the bottom of the box folded in and glued them together
- top pieces of the box folded in, tucking in the angled the tab
- Note 1: the two side pieces have been trimmed down just a bit, to help it close, but leave them long enough to overlap each other.
- Note 2: the tab has been angled ever so slightly so it will tuck into the angled box
- Daffodil Delight 1/4″ circle (or Enamel Shape) glued to the center of the Pool Party flower
- Pool Party flower glued to the center of the Blushing Bride flower
- Blushing Bride flower glued to the top of the box

My project today is made with the Moon Baby stamp set, Kraft Tag a Bag Gift Bags, and Layering Ovals Framelits Dies. This sweet little gift bag is perfect for a small baby shower gift or card. The design is inspired by this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge:

Stamped with the Moon Baby stamp set:
- full image in Basic Black ink onto a piece of Whisper White CS
- sentiment in Basic Black ink onto the 3-1/2″ x 6″ piece of DSP
- just the umbrella in Basic Black ink onto a small scrap of the DSP
Colored in with So Saffron Stampin’ Write Marker:
- baby’s clothes and hair
- tiny circle on the top of the umbrella
Die cut using the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies :

Dec 10, 2016 | Bags, Boxes, Christmas, Food, Gallery, Gift Wrap, Gifts, Holiday |
Need a cute little gift for someone? This is perfect, and it’s a whole lot easier than you may think. I’ve made and given several of these already. One day I was running late (imagine that!) and made 8 of these in about 15 minutes.
Here’s what I made:

Here’s how I did it:
Cut one piece of Garden Green card stock to 2″ x 10″. Score on the long side at 3-1/4″, 6-1/2″, and 9-3/4″. Score on the short side at 1″. Fold it in half to 1″ x 10″ and glue to keep it closed. Fold all score lines to form a triangle. Glue the 1/2″ area at one end to the inside of the other end.
Cut one piece of Garden Green CS to 2″ x 11″. Score on the long side every 1″ for the full length. Turn a quarter turn and cut to create two 1″ x 11″ strips. Cut one of those strips into two pieces: 4″ and 7″. Fold all three pieces like this: two valleys then two mountains, then repeat to the end of each piece. Insert them into the triangle, the longest at the bottom, the smallest at the top, and the middle one in the middle. Insert one Hershey’s Kiss into each little triangle – 9 pieces. I used the almond ones with gold wrappers, but you can use any color. I think a combination of red, green, and silver would look very festive.
Note: If you want, you can glue all the pieces inside the tree, but the pressure from the kisses and the ribbon keep it together just fine.
Wrap ribbon around the perimeter of the triangle and tie at the top. I like to use a little Fast Fuse to hold it in place. For these examples, I usedReal Red 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon on some, and Cherry Cobbler Ribbon from the Silky Taffeta 3/8″ Ribbon Combo Pack on the others.
Cut one piece of Chocolate Chip CS to 2″ x 5-3/4″. Score on the long side at 1″, 2-3/8″, 3-3/8″, and 4-3/4″. Score on the short side at 1″. Fold in half to 1″ x 5-3/4″ and glue to keep it closed. Fold all score lines to form a rectangle. Glue the two end areas together. Insert two Hershey Nuggets. I used two of the gold wrapped ones from an assorted bag.
Adhere the Chocolate Chip base to the Garden Green tree.

Today’s project is another in a series of quick, easy, small, inexpensive gifts. The white, unscented candle came from the Dollar Tree (my local store where everything costs $1.)
Here’s what I made:

Here’s how I did it:
I cut five 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ pieces of Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper, and glued them to the sides and top of a White Gift Box.
I took a length of Whisper White Organza Ribbon and colored it with a Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Marker. I let it dry for a while before tying it around the box.
I put 3 strips of Tear & Tape adhesive around the candle, then rolled it in Mica Flakes. I brushed off any loose flakes with my fingers.
I put some blue tissue (also from the Dollar Tree) in the box, put in the candle, and tied the ribbon around the box.
That’s it!
Note: I didn’t use the clear acetate sleeve that comes with the box, so I’ll save it to use with another project.
