A few days ago, my customer Brenda Carswell and her daughter Katie Carter came over to make cards. Katie needed a baby card and Brenda needed a sympathy card. Today I’m sharing Katie’s card. She wanted it to be blue because the baby’s mom is someone she was in school with and the school colors were blue. She also really wanted an owl. Here’s what she came up with.

Isn’t it adorable? I love the tiny scallop trim around the sentiment, and the blue owl with the little pink heart.
Here’s Katie hard at work assembling her owl.

And here she is proudly holding her finished card.

Here’s how she made it.
The card base is Dapper Denim card stock with a piece of Marina Mist Designer Series Paper glue to it.
The sentiment from the Better Together stamp set is stamped in Dapper Denim ink onto Whisper White card stock, then cut with the Layering Ovals Framelits. It is matted with a piece of Dapper Denim card stock cut with one of the scalloped ovals from the same Framelits set. Then it’s glued to the card front.
The owl is made using the Owl Builder Punch to cut Dapper Denim, Marina Mist, Whisper White, and Blushing Bride card stock.
The branch from the Best Birds stamp set is stamped in Dapper Denim onto Whisper White CS, then cut with the coordinating Birds & Blooms Thinlits dies.
The owl and the branch are attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Be sure to check back to see Brenda’s beautiful card.

Today’s guest stamper is Lonita Barron, an honorary member of my Candy Hearts team. Lonita has been a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator for several years, and has recently moved to the Atlanta area from Kentucky. And she has mad skills when it comes to card making! Take a look at the card she made for the June swap.

The card base is Tip Top Taupe card stock with a layer of Affectionately Yours Designer Series Paper. The swirls are cut with the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits dies from Night of Navy, Watermelon Wonder, and Pool Party card stock. The sentiment from the Tin of Cards stamp set is stamped in Night of Navy onto Pool Party card stock. The DSP and the sentiment are sponged around the edges with Night of Navy ink.
Thanks to Lonita for allowing me to share her card with you today!

I’m excited to share this card with you today. It was made by Tamara Burton, a member of my Candy Hearts team. It was her swap card at our June team meeting. Tamara has enjoyed scrapbooking for years, then added making cards to her repertoire. Her paper crafting skills are amazing!

Oh dear, I just noticed I misspelled her name in the watermark on the above photo. It’s Tamara. not Tamata! So sorry, Tamara!
Why are cards for guys so hard to make? We all struggle with them. Maybe it’s because most paper crafting products are more feminine, with lots of florals and the like. Maybe it’s because most paper crafters are women. Whatever the reason, we always need ideas.
Tamara used the new By the Shore Designer Series Paper to create this card that’s perfect for any guy.

When you first look at this DSP you might think about cute kid cards, or summery/beachy cards. But Tamara saw past that and used the multi-color striped pattern for a guy’s “shirt.” Coordinating card stock completes the look with a bow tie and buttons. Brilliant!
The Rose Wonder stamp set may seem very feminine, but the script Thank You is perfect for this manly card.

Thanks to Tamara for allowing me to share her card with you today!

On this date in 1960, a red haired Georgia peach was born. She grew up to be an avid paper crafter, and a brunette. Today she is an Independent Stampin’ Up Demonstrator and has a small stamping business called Stamp Candy. (Hint, it’s me!)
To commemorate the occasion, I’m sharing a card made by Judy Newsome, a member of my team of Candy Hearts. She has always been a wonderful seamstress, and now that she’s a paper crafter, her great eye for color and design is even more evident. This card was Judy’s swap card at our June team meeting. Yes, she made a bunch of these, not just one. I’m sure it took her a good bit of time to arrange all the little pieces, because I now how meticulous she is. Isn’t this a beautiful card?

Here’s how she did it:
The card base is Whisper White Thick card stock with a Pear Pizzazz layer and a So Saffron layer. The flowers and leaves are all cut with the Botanical Builder Framelits from Blushing Bride, Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, and Pool Party. She glued them all to the card front and added some Pearl Basic Jewels.
She stamped the sentiment from the Rose Wonder stamp set in Pear Pizzazz onto Whisper White card stock, then cut it out with a die from the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits. She used the same die to cut a piece of Pear Pizzazz card stock, then cut it in half lengthwise, and framed the sentiment with it.

Today’s card from Debbie Catlett is made using the Grateful Bunch stamp set.

The card base is Thick Whisper White card stock and the next layer is Mint Macaron card stock, with the lace design stamped in Mint Macaron ink.
She stamped the butterflies in Mint Macaron, Mossy Meadow, and Delightful Dijon, as well as the sentiment in black, onto Whisper White card stock. I’m not sure how she cut the corners, but I would guess she used a small circle punch, maybe 1/2″ or so. At least, that’s how I would have done it.
She put some loops of Linen Thread on the Mint Macaron layer, then attached the Whisper White piece with Stampin’ Dimentionals.
So easy to do and so elegant looking!
Thanks, Debbie!

Today I’m sharing a card that my team member Debbie Catlett made using the Circle of Spring stamp set.
She stamped the wreath in Basic Black Archival ink onto Whisper White card stock and colored it in with Stampin’ Write Markers (Watermelon Wonder & Mint Macaron?) She stamped the bow in Mint Macaron onto Whisper White card stock and colored it in with a Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker. Then she used the Wonderful Wreath Framelits to cut both pieces.
She stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in Mint Macaron onto Whisper White card stock and cut it using the Banner Triple Punch.
She glued the wreath and bow, and stapled the sentiment, onto a piece of Whisper White card stock whose corners she rounded with the Project Life Corner Punch. That is glued onto a piece of 2015-2017 In Color Designer Series Paper (Watermelon Wonder) and glued that onto a Thick Whisper White card stock card base.
Check back for more cards from Debbie!
