Today I’m sharing another project from July’s Stamp Club meeting. You can see the first one here. Today’s project is a Z-Fold card. When it first comes out of the envelope, it looks like this:

Here’s how we did it:
Cut a piece of Soft Sky card stock @ 4-1/4 x 11”. Cut another piece @ 2-1/8” x 11”. Score both pieces along the long side at 2-3/4” and at 5-1/2”. Flip the 2-1/8″ around to the other end. The taller piece will have an extra score line on the left and the shorter piece will have an extra score line on the right. See photos above.
Cut a piece of Very Vanilla card stock @ 2-1/2” x 1-7/8”.
Cut the following pieces of the By The Shore Designer Series Paper. Be sure to keep the patterns going in the right direction.
- water design: 1 piece @ 5-1/4” wide x 4” tall, and 2 pieces @ 2-1/2” wide x 4” tall.
- fish design: 1 piece @ 2-1/2” wide x 1-7/8” tall, and 1 piece @ 5-1/4” wide x 1-7/8” tall.
Stamp sentiment in Dapper Denim on the large water DSP as shown.
Stamp kelp in Calypso Coral on the water DSP pieces as shown. We stamped around the sentiment, but I think you could stamp over it, since the Dapper Denim ink is so much darker than the Calypso Coral.
Stamp three starfish in Calypso Coral onto the Very Vanilla piece. This is where your hand written message will go.
Stamp the anchor and the ship’s wheel in Early Expresso near the bottom of the 2 pieces of water DSP as shown.
Stamp three fish in Dapper Denim on an extra piece of Very Vanilla card stock. Use your Paper Snips to cut them out. We glued on the center one, since it is inside the card when it’s closed. The other two are attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Now glue all the small pieces to the two Soft Sky card stock pieces. Then glue the 2-/18″ tall piece to the 4-1/4″ tall piece, only gluing in the two bottom corner areas. You can see where they are attached in the top view above.
It looks much more complicated than it really is. I hope my directions are easy to follow. If you have any questions at all, please let me know!

The Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper and coordinating Fresh Fruit stamp set are perfect for this time of year. It’s hot outside here in Atlanta, GA, USA, and there’s nothing better than enjoying fresh produce, especially sweet, juicy, ripe fruit.
At July’s Stamp Club, we used this set for one of our projects. Doesn’t this card just scream summer?
Here’s how we did it:
We glued a piece of the strawberry design DSP to a Garden Green card base, then glued a striped piece (the back side of the strawberries) about 2/3 of the way down.
We stamped the sentiment from the coordinating Fresh Fruit stamp set in Real Red onto Whisper White card stock, then cut it with the Lots of Labels Framelits dies. We used one size larger Framelit to cut a piece of Garden Green card stock. We glued these two pieces together.
We stamped the strawberry in Real Red, and the top in Garden Green, onto Whisper White card stock, then cut it out with Paper Snips. We glued it just overlapping the sentiment piece, then attached the whole thing to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Super Easy! This took my Stamp Club ladies no time to finish!

Yesterday I shared a baby card made by Katie Carter. You can see it here. Today I’m sharing a beautiful sympathy card made by her mom, Brenda Carswell.
Of course, we hope we never need a sympathy card, but it is a part of life. Brenda wanted to make a card for a friend who just lost her mother.
She started by looking through the Designer Series Papers to find a design she liked. She settled on the Blooms and Bliss DSP. She originally chose the design on the other side of this pattern, but realized this side would actually be better for this card. It’s the one at far left in this photo:

The card base is Sweet Sugarplum card stock with a Rich Razzleberry layer and the DSP glued on.
The sentiment from the Heartfelt Sympathy stamp set is stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink onto Whisper White card stock, then cut with a die from the Layering Ovals Framelits. It is glued to the card front.
I forgot to get a photo of the inside of the card. She stamped a sentiment from the Thoughts & Prayers stamp set in Rich Razzleberry directly onto the card base interior. It’s the one at bottom right in this photo, that begins, “Praying for friends…”

A few days ago, my customer Brenda Carswell and her daughter Katie Carter came over to make cards. Katie needed a baby card and Brenda needed a sympathy card. Today I’m sharing Katie’s card. She wanted it to be blue because the baby’s mom is someone she was in school with and the school colors were blue. She also really wanted an owl. Here’s what she came up with.
Isn’t it adorable? I love the tiny scallop trim around the sentiment, and the blue owl with the little pink heart.

Here’s how she made it.
The card base is Dapper Denim card stock with a piece of Marina Mist Designer Series Paper glue to it.
The sentiment from the Better Together stamp set is stamped in Dapper Denim ink onto Whisper White card stock, then cut with the Layering Ovals Framelits. It is matted with a piece of Dapper Denim card stock cut with one of the scalloped ovals from the same Framelits set. Then it’s glued to the card front.
The owl is made using the Owl Builder Punch to cut Dapper Denim, Marina Mist, Whisper White, and Blushing Bride card stock.
The branch from the Best Birds stamp set is stamped in Dapper Denim onto Whisper White CS, then cut with the coordinating Birds & Blooms Thinlits dies.
The owl and the branch are attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

And now for today’s card. Have you seen the new Pun Intended host stamp set? It’s on page 200 of the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog. Even if you don’t like puns (I do) the images are terrific. Today I’m sharing a card with the camera and coordinating sentiment from this stamp set.
Here’s how I did it:
The card base is Basic Black card stock. You can glue a piece of Very Vanilla to the inside to write on.
The card front is a piece of Affectionately Yours Designer Series Paper. This pattern reminded me of old-timey wall paper, so I made the card front into a wall.
The camera and sentiment are stamped in Basic Black onto Very Vanilla card stock and matted with Basic Black. I used a Sponge Dauber and Crumb Cake ink to dirty it up a bit. I wanted it to look like an old clipping that has been hanging there for a long time. I stamped the thumb tack from the Painter’s Palette stamp set in Basic Black partially on the clipping and partially on the wall.
The final touch was to “ground the room” so I created the top of a chair. I stamped the Hardwood background stamp in Early Espresso ink onto Crumb Cake card stock, then used my Paper Snips to cut the pieces (one horizontal and two vertical.) I used a 1/4″ circle punch to cut the finials.
The only adhesive I used on this card is the Multipurpose Liquid Glue – one of my favorite adhesives ever for card making!

And here’s what I made.
The card base is Pool Party card stock with a piece of the DSP glued on.
On Whisper White card stock, I stamped the fox in Calypso Coral and black, and the sentiment from the Designer Tin of Cards in black, then glued it to the card front. Super easy and super cute!
