Missing You

missing you window card a

I’m sorry I haven’t posted in a couple days. I’m on a trip with some friends and, while the Internet here is pretty good, I’ve just been having too much fun to sit down and post, which is both a good thing and a bad thing. Even when I have my laptop with me by the pool, I’m just too distracted and relaxed to get much done. So please forgive me if I don’t post quite as much this week.

By the way, if you ever have the opportunity to stay at LeBlanc in Cancun, do it! It’s an amazingly luxurious place. They pamper you like you’re royalty. We even have a butler!  Now on to today’s card…

The Hearth & Home Thinlits Dies, originally offered in the 2015 Holiday catalog, are returning in the new Occasions catalog, and are available in a new Bundle with a brand new coordinating stamp set, Happy Home. Aren’t these images sweet?

Happy Home stamp set

For today’s card, I used the bench image to create a sweet Spring/Summer scene outside the window. I stamped the scene in Basic Black on Whisper White card stock, then I colored in the scene with Sponge Daubers and inks in Soft Sky and Garden Green. I used a White Stampin’ Chalk Marker to fill in the clouds, and a Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker to fill in the bench. I used Stampin’ Dimentionals to attach the window to the wall.

Notice the little bird in the sky over the bench? That isn’t part of the stamp. I accidentally got a speck of ink there, so I used my Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker to hide it with a little V shaped bird. No problem!

For the room’s interior, I used a piece of the new Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper Stack as the wallpaper.

For the bead board wainscoting, I scored a piece of Whisper White card stock every 1/8” with my Simply Scored Scoring Tool. I glued a 1/4″ strip of Whisper White CS along the top of the bead board, then a 1/8″ strip on top of that, for the chair rail molding.

I stamped the sentiment in Garden Green on Blushing Bride CS, and cut it out with the Word Window Punch. The whole thing is glued onto a Garden Green card base.

enjoy little things card a

I’ve used two new stamp sets: the sentiment is from Enjoy the Little Things, and the rows of hearts are from Birthday Blooms.

All the stamped images are on Whisper White card stock: the sentiment in Lost Lagoon and the hearts in Lost Lagoon, Blushing Bride, and So Saffron.

The card base is Lost Lagoon card stock, and the sentiment is matted with Blushing Bride and Lost Lagoon.

Super simple!

Birthday Blooms for You

yellow flower card b

This is such a pretty stamp set! Birthday Blooms is in the new Occasions Catalog coming tomorrow.

Birthday Blooms stamp set

For today’s card, I stamped the flower in Basic Black ink, once on Daffodil Delight card stock and several times on Old Olive card stock. From the Daffodil Delight one, I fussy cut the flower portion, and from the Old Olive ones I cut the stem and leaves from one and just the leaves from the others. Fussy cutting = Paper Snips rule!

The card base is Daffodil Delight CS, with a layer of Basic Black CS, and a top layer from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack. I stamped the sentiment in Basic Black directly on the card front, and I glued the flower and leaves onto the card front.

You Wonderful Thing CYCI 101

 CYCI-101-card-wm-b

It’s the first canyoucaseit.com challenge of 2016! I hope you’ll play along with us by posting your project to the web site. You just might be one of the design team picks of the week!

Here is this week’s color challenge…

CYCI 101 due 1-1-16

… and here is my card.

CYCI 101 card wm a

I made a 6″ x 6″card today, not something I do very often. My purple, blue, and neutral colors are Rich Razzleberry, Bermuda Bay,  and Very Vanilla, which are all colors in the Bohemian Designer Series Paper.

The card base is Bermuda Bay card stock that I cut to 6″ x 12″ and scored at 6″. (If you have 8-1/2″ x 11″ paper instead of 12″ x 12″, you can make a 5-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ card.)

The next two layers are from the Bohemian DSP.

Using the Circles Collection Framelits Dies, I cut a Bermuda Bay and a slightly smaller Rich Razzleberry circle. I glued the larger one to the card front, then attached the smaller one with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment from the You’re So Lovely stamp set on Very Vanilla card stock in Rich Razzleberry. I then stamped the tiny wreath around the sentiment in Bermuda Bay. I used the 2-1/2″ Circle Punch to cut it out, then attached it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The last touch was to put scatter a few sequins from the Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim. I pulled them off the string, dropped them onto the card for a random design, and glued them on the card individually.

Happy New Year! The Journey Begins…

vw journey begins card b

While this card is meant for newlyweds, I think it’s appropriate for today. After all, we are beginning the journey through 2016.

I think the Beautiful Ride stamp set will be one of the most popular sets of the new Occasions catalog, because everyone I’ve talked to so far says it’s one of their favorites. The car alone is worth getting the set, but the accompanying images make it a must have.

Beautiful Ride stamp set

The Going Places suite of products, on pages 38-39 of the new Occasions catalog, is a perfect accompaniment for this stamp set. Here I used a piece of the Designer Series Paper Stack as the background. I added a very thin Basic Black layer behind the DSP, and adhered it to a Real Red card base.

I stamped the car in black on Real Red card stock. I cut out the car, and cut out the windows with my Paper Snips, then backed them with a piece of Window Sheet. I filled in some details (tires, wheels, bumpers, door handle, mirror stem) with a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker and a White Stampin’ Chalk Marker.

I stamped the luggage in black on Crumb Cake CS, cut it out with my Paper Snips, then filled in some details with Stampin’ Write markers in Smoky Slate (corners,) Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede, and Crumb Cake.

I stamped the cans in black on the strip of Very Vanilla CS, and colored them with a White Stampin’ Chalk Marker and Stampin’ Write Markers in Real Red, Crushed Curry, and Old Olive. I stamped the sentiment in black on the Very Vanilla strip. I matted the strip with Basic Black CS and glued it to the card front.

And finally, I adhered the car and luggage with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
