What fun! Stampin’ Up! catalogs are filled with so many great ideas for Spring-themed projects – Easter, birthdays, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Spring weddings… We are excited to share our Spring Celebrations creations with you today.
Here’s what I made:

Mar 14, 2017 | Cards, Challenges, Deals, Gallery, Occasions, Sale-A-Bration |
Today I’m sharing a card that I designed for my March Stamp Club gathering. All the projects we made used the newest Sale-a-bration items. This one uses the 6×6 Glimmer Assortment, which you can get for FREE with a $50 purchase, but only while supplies last! I also used the All Things Thanks stamp set, the Flourish Thinlits Dies, May Flowers Framelits Dies, and Aqua Painters. I used Shimmery White card stock (CS,) instead of the regular Whisper White CS, because you can watercolor on it without any pilling.

Also, today a group of us are being highlighted internationally by Kylie Bertucci, a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator from Australia, and you can actually VOTE for my card. The top ten winners will get to be part of an international blog hop next month, so please vote for my card. You can do that here.
Our theme for this highlight is the All Things Thanks stamp set. It’s a wonderful stamp set with so many gorgeous sentiments, and we wanted to highlight how versatile it really is. You can see another card I’ve made with this stamp set here. Make sure you head over to Kylie’s blog to vote for my card. I would love to be chosen to do an international blog hop!

Here’s what I made:

Here’s what I did:
Cut and scored with the Stampin’ Trimmer:
- So Saffron card stock (CS) cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, then scored in half at 4-1/4″
- Basic Black CS cut to 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″
- Shimmery White CS cut to 5-1/4″ x 4″
Stamped with the All Things Thanks stamp set:
- sentiment in Basic Black Archival ink
Die cut using the Flourish Thinlits :
- leaf shape from Mint Macaron Glimmer Paper
Die cut using the May Flowers Framelits:
- flower from Sweet Sugarplum Glimmer Paper
Cut using the 1/2″ Circle Punch:
- So Saffron CS for the flower center
Used Aqua Painters to watercolor:
- Mint Macaron ink onto the Shimmery White CS, where the die cut leaves would go
- Sweet Sugarplum ink onto the Shimmery White CS, where the die flower would go
- NOTE: I used a drop of each color ink from the Refills, but you can also use the ink pads. I have both listed at the bottom of this post
Assembled the card:
- 1/2″ So Saffron circle glued onto the back of the flower
- Glimmer Paper leaf and flower glued over the watercolored areas of the Shimmery White CS
- Shimmer White CS glued onto the Basic Black CS
- Basic Black CS glued onto the So Saffron card base

I’ve been using the Basket Bunch Bundle a lot lately. And why not? It’s adorable and versatile. For today’s card, Thanks a Bunch of Carrots, I paired the bundle with Party Animal Designer Series Paper (DSP.) It’s a clean and simple card, but still fun.

Basket Bunch Bundle © Stampin’ Up!
Here’s what I made:

Here’s what I did:
Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:
- Whisper White Thick card stock (CS) to 4-1/4″ x 11″, then scored in half at 5-1/2″
- Pumpkin Pie CS to 2-1/2″ x 3-3/4″
- Party Animal Designer Series Paper (DSP) to 2-1/4″ x 3-1/2″
- Whisper White CS to 2″ x 3-1/4″
- NOTE: Regarding the Whisper White CS pieces used on this card, you can use the thick CS for everything OR you can use thick CS just for the card base and regular CS for everything else.
Stamped with the Basket Bunch stamp set:
- 7 carrots in Basic Black ink onto a scrap of Whisper White CS
- sentiment in Basic Black ink onto the 2″ x 3-1/4″ Whisper White CS, about 1/2″ from the bottom
Colored in with Stampin’ Write Markers:
Die cut using the Basket Builder Framelits:
Assembled the card:
- carrots glued together in a bunch. I started with the front most carrot and built the bunch from front to back (or top to bottom.)
- separated about 5 strands from a piece of Emerald Envy Solid Baker’s Twine, then used about it to wrap around the top of the bunch of carrots and tie in a knot. You could use a full piece of the twine, and just not it wrap around as many times.
- the tied bunch of carrots glued onto the Whisper White CS above the sentiment
- Whisper White CS glued onto the Party Animal DSP
- DSP glued onto the Pumpkin Pie CS
- Pumpkin Pie CS glued onto the front of the Whisper White card base – not centered, to add interest
Here’s a tip for mailing:
Whenever I mail a card with something that causes a noticeable lump in the envelope, I insert an extra piece of card stock in the envelope over the front of the card. It’s amazing how much this helps!
I don’t usually do this if it’s just Stampin’ Dimensionals, because they’re pretty soft. But when I use pearls or buttons, or even this card with its many layers of CS where the carrots are, that extra piece of CS in the envelope can help ensure your recipient gets the card you made, and not just a mess in a torn envelope.

It’s rare that I make a card with no layers, but I decided to step outside my comfort zone for today’s card. I stamped directly onto the card base using the Diagonal Stripe background stamp and the Lift Me Up stamp set, then added balloons cut with the Up & Away Thinlits dies. Oh, and you save 10% when you buy the Lift Me Up stamp set and the Up & Away Thinlits together as a bundle!
Here’s what I made:

Here’s what I did:
Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:
- Pool Party card stock (CS) to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, then scored in half at 4-1/4″
Stamped with the Diagonal Stripe background stamp:
- diagonal lines in Bermuda Bay ink directly onto the card front
- NOTE: I laid the stamp rubber side up, then very lightly touched it with the Bermuda Bay ink pad. I was going for a light, mottled sort of look.
Stamped with the Lift Me Up stamp set:
- sentiment in Island Indigo ink directly onto the card front
- smaller balloon in Island Indigo ink onto Watermelon Wonder CS
- smaller balloon in Island Indigo ink onto Peekaboo Peach CS
Die cut using the Up & Away Thinlits:
- the two stamped balloons
- large balloon overlay from Island Indigo CS
- the 6 back pieces of the large balloon from Bermuda Bay CS
Assembled the card:
- applied glue to the back of the Island Indogo overlay, then laid the Bermuda Bay back pieces over it. NOTE: I used my trusty Multipurpose Liquid Glue, but many people prefer the Fine-Tip Glue Pen for such detailed pieces.
- all three balloons adhered to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals

Gorgeous. Stunning. Amazing. You know, all those good words. They’re what I use to describe the Succulent Garden Suite of products in the 2017 Occasions Catalog (pages 20-21.) Even the word Succulent sounds so rich and beautiful. I used the Oh So Succulent stamp set and the Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP) to create today’s card. It was my swap card at a team meeting I attended Saturday. You can see more of the team swaps here. Scroll down to bottom of today’s post to see all the products in this suite.
Here’s what I made:

The Tip Top Taupe looks a bit darker in this photo that in real life.
Here’s what I did:
Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:

- Succulent Garden DSP to 4″ x 5-1/4″ (top layer)
- Tip Top Taupe CS big enough for the die cut oval
- Whisper White CS big enough for the die cut oval
- small piece Whisper White CS big enough for the die cut banner
- NOTE – the last two pieces of Whisper White CS can be either the regular CS or the thick CS, whichever you have on hand. I used the regular to keep down the thickness.
Stamped with the Banners for You stamp set:
- banner outline in Tip Top Taupe ink onto small piece of Whisper White CS
Stamped with the Oh So Succulent stamp set:
- sentiment in Mint Macaron ink onto the already stamped banner – curve the photopolymer stamp to fit the banner shape
- flower outline in Tip Top Taupe ink onto Whisper White CS
- solid flower in Mint Macaron ink onto the already stamped flower outline
Die cut using the Bunch of Banners Framelits:
Die cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits:
- stitched oval from the Whisper White CS, with the stamped flower in the upper half
Die cut using the Layering Oval Framelits:
- scalloped oval from Tip Tip Taupe CS
Assembled the card:
- Whisper White oval glued onto the Tip Tip Taupe oval
- Tip Top Taupe oval glued onto the DSP layer
- DSP layer glued onto the Tip Top Taupe layer
- Tip Top Taupe layer glued onto the Whisper White card base
- lastly the banner adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the DSP and the lower half of the Whisper White oval

Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator extraordinaire Pam Morris had a team meeting at her parents’ Subway restaurant Saturday, and it was so much fun! Thanks again to her mom, Carol, for graciously hosting (tolerating) us! I love love love it when I can get together with other SU Demos, and this is a particularly fantastic group of people. And talented, too! (I’m not biased at all.) Today I’m sharing the team swaps with you. Prepare to be impressed!
If you see a little candy machine full of hearts next to someone’s name, that means they are a member of my team, the Candy Hearts! I’ll post my swap card tomorrow, so be sure to check it out.

Ferrero Rocher boxes were very popular at the meeting on Saturday. This Make & Take was super easy to make with the Envelope Punch Board, a 1/4″ Circle Punch, and a straw! (The 1/4″ punch is on Clearance, so get it NOW!)
