Occasions Catalogue Sneak Peek for Thailand Achievers Blog Hop

Today I am very excited to share with you a sneak peek of some new products from the upcoming 2017 Occasions Catalog, as part of the December 2016 Thailand Achievers’ Blog Hop. And I can’t wait to see what the other participants of this hop are sharing today.

Here’s what I made:

Here’s how I did it:

The card base is Delightful Dijon card stock. The next layer up is Basic Gray card stock that I ran through the Big Shot in the new Hexagons Dynamic embossing folder.

I stamped the sentiment and two screws, from the Nailed It stamp set, in Basic Black ink onto a piece of Very Vanilla card stock, and matted it with a piece of Delightful Dijon.

The vertical panel is Very Vanilla card stock matted with Delightful Dijon, and the horizontal panel is a piece of Urban Underground Designer Series Paper matted with Basic Black.

The screwdriver, from the same stamp set, is stamped in Basic Black ink onto Basic Gray card stock, then cut out with the coordinating die from the Build It Framelits.

The DSP panel, the screwdriver, and the sentiment are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Floral Card in a Box

Today I’m sharing with you one of our April Stamp Club projects, a card in a box. This one is bursting with flowers and butterflies…

…then it folds flat to go into an envelope.

The back has a blank panel for a handwritten message. It’s easier to write on before gluing it onto the box.

There is a strip of card stock zig-zagged on the inside of the box to attach the flowers & butterflies to. Be sure you attach it so that it runs side to side instead of front to back.

The front panel has the sentiment. I chose to make this a Mother’s Day card, but you could use almost any sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

This card may seem a bit overwhelming at first, but it really isn’t difficult at all. I find the most difficult part is to get the zig-zagged strip glued inside the box. I recommend using liquid glue, so you can slide it into place more easily than if you use a dry adhesive.

Make a Wish

make a wish card b

Continuing with the #imbringingbirthdaysback theme, today I’m sharing another birthday card made with the It’s My Party Designer Series Paper, and the Party Wishes stamp set.

make a wish card a

The colors were easy to pick out – I just used some of the colors that were already in the DSP: Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, and Mint Macaron.

For the sentiment, I stamped it in Melon Mambo onto Whisper White card stock and cut it with the 1-1/2″ Circle Punch. I used the 1-3/4″ Scalloped Circle Punch to cut a piece of Crushed Curry card stock. I used the 2″ Circle Punch to cut a piece of Mint Macaron card stock. I stacked these three circles together, gluing the bottom two pieces and adhering the top piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The next layer down (the horizontal strip) is a piece of the DSP matted with Mint Macaron card stock.

Under that is a piece of the DSP glued to a piece of Mint Macaron card stock, then glued to the Melon Mambo card base.

For the balloon, I cut a piece of Melon Mambo card stock with the Balloon Bouquet Punch and attached a piece of Crushed Curry Baker’s Twine to the back. I adhered the balloon with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then used a teeny tiny bit of glue to adhere the twine to the card front. Let the glue dry completely before handling it, so the twine will stay in place.

It’s My Party Wishes

happy birthday punch pack card a

I’m sure by now you’ve heard of the #imbringingbirthdaysback movement. Shannon West, who works at Stampin’ Up’s home office in Utah, decided that she had had enough of digital birthday greetings, like those you receive on Facebook. She created a post saying that she would love to send you a handmade birthday card if you would just send her your name, address, and birthday. That sparked what has now become a world wide movement. She received thousands of requests – so many that she needs an assistant to help her keep up! Stampin’ Up! now sells a stamp designed by Shannon that says #imbringingbirthdaysback.

I have been trying to do my part by making birthday (and anniversary) cards for the people in my life. I have cards made and envelopes addressed through mid-August. I have the mailing date written on each envelope where the stamp will cover it. And I use the #imbringingbirthdaysback stamp on the backs of the envelopes.

I even bought some stamps at the Post Office that say Celebrate! How appropriate is that?

Today’s card is one I’m sending later this year. It’s very festive, don’t you think?

All stamped images are from the Party Wishes stamp set.

Party Wishes stamp set

On a piece of Whisper White card stock, I stamped the sentiment in Mint Macaron, and the balloon string in Melon Mambo. On a separate piece of Whisper White card stock, I stamped the cupcakes in Crushed Curry, the balloon in Melon Mambo, and the candle in Mint Macaron. I used the Party Punch Pack to cut the shapes, then I adhered them with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love how the candle fits perfectly over the I in BIRTHDAY – I cut a sliver from a Stampin’ Dimensional to adhere it.

I glued the stamped piece onto a piece of It’s My Party Designer Series Paper, then tied a piece of Mint Macaron/Basic Black twine from the Baker’s Twine Combo Pack around the whole thing. I attached this panel to the Crushed Curry card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Don’t miss out on the retiring products! Get them before they’re gone! Stamps will continue to be manufactured for a few more weeks, but everything else on the Retiring List is available only while supplies last. Almost everything I used on today’s card is retiring. The Crushed Curry and Whisper White card stock, and the adhesives are all that will still be available in the new catalog. And did I mention that many of the retiring products are discounted up to 50%?

Guest Stamper Tamara Burton

I love to show off the talents of my amazing team, the Candy Hearts. Today I’m thrilled to share with you a card I received from Tamara Burton of Stockbridge, GA. She made this sweet and lovely card for me when I wasn’t feeling well recently. I love receiving handmade cards, and this one certainly brightened my day.

Tamara's card to me

Tamara used the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper (my fave,) Blushing Bride card stock, and the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies to make the card front, which is on a Whisper White card base. Don’t you love how she cut the rose and leaves out of the DSP? The sentiment is from the Rose Wonder stamp set.

And not only is it gorgeous, but it’s also an easel card!
