Cupcakes & Carousels Easter Treat Basket

I made these little Easter Baskets as favors for each place setting at the March Candy Hearts team meeting. You can read about the gathering here. I used Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper and the blue bows from the coordinating Embellishment Kit. These go together super fast.

Here’s what I made:

Cute little baskets you can modify for any occasion - Cupcakes & Carousels, #candyhearts team meeting March 2017, Stampin' Up! #stampcandy

Here’s what I did:

Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:

  • Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper (DSP) to 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″, then scored at 1-1/4″ and 2-1/2″ on one side, then rotated it 90 and scored again at 1-1/4″ and 2-1/2″
  • DSP to 3/4″ x 4″ strip

Cut with Paper Snips:

  • two score lines on each of two opposite sides
  • Diagram: solid lines = cut, and dotted lines = fold

Easter basket template - Stampin' Up! #stampcandy

Assembled the basket:

  • folded up the three sections along one of the cut sides
  • angled in the two outer pieces and glued to the center piece
  • repeated on the other side
  • glued handle to inside of basket on each side
  • adhered a bow to the basket with Mini Glue Dots
  • filled with crinkly gift bag filler and Easter candies by Cadbury and Lindt

Easter Basket Bunch Bundle Cupcake Toppers

For our March Candy Hearts meeting, which you can read about here, I got cupcakes at SmallCakes, which is located dangerously close to where I live. I used the Basket Bunch Bundle to make these cute little Easter Basket cupcake toppers.

All you have to do is change it up a little to make cupcake toppers for any event. They would be perfect for baby showers, bridal showers, wedding favors, parties,…

Here’s what I made:

#candyhearts team meeting snacks March 2017 meeting, Stampin' Up! #stampcandy

Top your Easter cupcakes with these easy Easter baskets full of eggs and a chocolate bunny. Basket Bunch Bundle, Stampin' Up! #stampcandy

Here’s what I did:

Stamped with the Basket Bunch stamp set:

  • bunny in Chocolate Chip ink onto Chocolate Chip card stock (CS)

Die cut using the Basket Builder Framelits:

  • stamped bunny (1)
  • basket bottom (2) and basket handle (1) from Crumb Cake CS
  • grass from Cucumber Crush CS (1)
  • eggs from Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, and Tempting Turquoise CS (1 each color)

Assembled the Cupcake Toppers:

  • used Paper Snips to trim the grass to fit, and glued it to the back of the basket
  • handle ends glue to back of basket/grass
  • put glue on the bottom of the bunny and tucked it in between the basket and grass
  • 3 eggs glued to back of basket so they show behind grass – make sure at least part of each egg is hidden behind the basket, so it won’t show in the back
  • applied Fast Fuse to the second basket, laid the top of a 4″ wooden skewer on it, then laid the first basket (with bunny, etc.) on top to adhere, and trap the skewer top between the layers

Awards for InKing Royalty Halloween Hop

clown-award-e

halloween-hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s September Blog Hop!  We are excited to share some super-fun creations with you today!  This month’s Blog Hop is filled with inspiring projects that feature each artist’s take on the spookiest time of year – Halloween.  What fun!  After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

This is the hop I’ve been waiting for! Anyone who knows me knows that I am a huge fan of Halloween. My husband and I throw a party every year and invite all our friends. Some people fly cross country for it. We’ve even had folks cross an ocean for it!

We always have a costume contest, and I like to make the awards. A few years ago I found some little plastic skulls with spines on stands in a bargain bin somewhere (probably Target or Michael’s.) They were super cheap and I knew I would be able to use them at some point, so I got them. This is their year. The party theme is Circus, so I’m making creepy little clown trophies out of them.

clown-award-d

Here’s how I did it:

I made the hat from a piece of paper from the Playful Palette Designer Series Paper Stack and Emerald Envy Solid Baker’s Twine. I’m the first to admit that I am an abysmal pompom maker, but for this project I don’t think it matters so much. The loops of twine along the bottom of the hat are also messy. I think it adds to the creepiness of the overall look. The hat is put together, and attached to the skull, with Fast Fuse, Mini Glue Dots, and Tear & Tape adhesives.

I used the 1″ Circle Punch to cut a piece of Real Red card stock and attached it to the nose with 4 layered Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the bowtie, I used the Bow Builder Punch to cut a piece of Basic Black card stock. I photocopied the pieces at 300%, and cut out the larger pieces. I used these to cut out the bowtie pieces from a piece of Petals & Paisleys Designer Series Paper. I assembled the bow with Fast Fuse, and attached it to the spine with Mini Glue Dots.

I haven’t made the tags yet for each award: Scariest Costume, Prettiest Costume, etc. I’m still trying to decide exactly what I want to do. Please let me know if you have any suggestions!

Festive Piñata

fiesta bd card a

Can I just say that I love the Festive Birthday Designer Series Paper? It’s bright colors speak to my personality. And the images are a-dor-a-ble. This card uses four different designs from the pack: the pumpkin pie design, the Tempting Turquoise design, the Melon Mambo design, and the one with the piñatas & sombreros and guitars.

Festive Birthday DSP

The card base is Emerald Envy card stock. I glued the strips of DSP to the base. I cut a piece of Whisper White card stock with the largest die from the Layering Ovals Framelits, then stamped it with two stamps from the Birthday Fiesta stamp set, the larger one in Tempting Turquoise and the smaller one in Crushed Curry.

I cut the piñata with Paper Snips and glued it to the center of the oval, then glued the oval to the card front.

For the final touch, I added a White Perfect Accent to each corner.

Dinosaur Party for GDP043

There’s a theme challenge over at Global Design Project this week:

GDP043

I’ve had the No Bones About It stamp set for a while now, but haven’t used it. This seemed like the perfect opportunity. When I see these adorable little dinosaurs, I think of those brightly colored plastic dinosaurs that almost every kid has at some point. So I created a kid’s party invitation.

Dino party card b

Here’s how I did it:

The sentiment is from the Confetti Celebration stamp set and is stamped in Archival Basic Black ink onto Whisper White card stock. All the other images are from the No Bones About It stamp set and are stamped in Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, and Bermuda Bay.

The stamped piece is glued to a piece of Marina Mist card stock, and that’s glued to the Old Olive card base.

I took a Sharpie (I thought I picked up a black one but it turned out to be dark blue) and colored four of the tiniest Pearl Basic Jewels fo rthe dinos’ eyes.

I know I say this a lot, but this card really was quick and easy. It probably took longer to clean the stamps that it took to make the card! It would be easy to make a bunch of these to send out for your little one’s party.
