Five For All Pizza Box for an Over the Hill Birthday Party

It’s a party! My presentation at the Spring Stamp-Along last week was all about party favors, food, and decor for five different types of party. One type was a birthday party for an adult. I haven’t seen the Over the Hill birthday theme used in a long time, so I decided to go with that. I used black and silver for all the projects. The Five For All stamp set has funny birthday sentiments perfect for this theme.

Today I’m sharing a box that could hold a small gift or a party favor. Don’t you just love the Mini Pizza Boxes? And they’re carrying over to the new catalog! Unfortunately, the Five For All stamp set is not. It’s one of the products that will be retiring, so it will be available through May 31, or while supplies last. See all the retiring products HERE.

Five For All stamp set and a Mini Pizza Box by Stampin' Up! create a fun gift or party favor box for an Over the Hill type birthday party. #stampcandy

Here’s what I did:

Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:

  • Silver Foil Sheet cut to 3″ x 3″
  • Basic Black card stock (CS) cut to 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″

Stamped with the Five For All stamp set:

  • sentiment in Versamark ink onto the Basic Black CS square, then heat embossed in silver

Painted using Archival Basic Black ink refill:

  • the outside of the box – let it dry completely before adhering anything to it
  • NOTE: I used an old paintbrush. The ink did stain it, but did not hurt it at all.
  • NOTE: I used an alcohol pad to remove any ink from the inside of the box.

Assembled the project:

  • folded the box together
  • adhered the sentiment onto the Silver Foil Sheet piece using Tear & Tape
  • adhered the Silver Foil Sheet to the top of the box using Stampin’ Dimensionals, being sure to leave a “tunnel” for the ribbon
  • ran ribbon under the Silver Foil Sheet, wrapped it around the box, and tied it on the side
  • applied Metallic Enamel Shapes (silver dots) to the top of the box around the Silver Foil Sheet, to resemble a marquis

Pink & Blue Baby Shower Party Favor Cigars

Today’s project is made with several retiring products: World’s Best Trophy stamp set, Archival Basic Black ink pad, and card stock in Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette, and Soft Sky. Chocolate Chip is the perfect reddish brown color for a cigar. I wrapped it around large rolls of Sweetarts candies. The cigar bands are strips of card stock with 1″ punched circles. I didn’t have a stamp set that included “boy,” although there are a few that have the word “girl.” So I used the “son” and “daughter” from the World’s Best Trophy stamp set. These make great party favors for a baby shower. You can change the band color and sentiment for any occasion.

You can see everything that is retiring HERE. Everything is available through May 31, or while supplies last.

Retiring Products List is Here!

I attended Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage event this weekend, where I got a copy of the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalog. Believe me when I say you’ll be amazed when you see it! There’s some really exciting stuff going on that I can’t tell you about yet (I’m about to bust!) With every new catalog, we get to say hello to some great new products, and we have to say goodbye to some old friends. The Retiring Products are available while supplies last, so get what you want off this list before it’s sells out. CLICK HERE to shop the retiring products. Or check out the retiring lists below. For each catalog (Occasions and Annual) there are two files; a pdf and a spreadsheet. Download them to help you decide what you have to have before it’s gone.

Get ‘Em Before They’re Gone! 2016-2018 In Colors

Sale-A-Bration Countdown - only 11 days left! #stampcandy

Not only are we nearing the end of Sale-A-Bration, but also the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalog goes live June 1! That means 5 new In Colors!  It also means 5 In Colors will retire. The official retiring list won’t be released by Stampin’ Up! until April, but we do know that the 2016-2018 In Colors will not be carrying over. My advice is to get everything you want that comes in, or with, the 2016-2018 In Colors as soon as possible. Once the actual retiring list comes out, things will start selling out very quickly, especially the In Colors. Don’t wait and take the chance of missing out on these amazing colors!

Happy New Year 2018 in Large Numbers!

Happy New Year! Today’s card should look familiar. It’s very much like my team’s swap cards that I posted yesterday. I did make mine several weeks ago, but was saving it for today. The Large Numbers Framelits Dies make the Eclipse Technique super quick and easy (the magic words.) I also used the Year of Cheer Designer Series Paper (DSP) and a Silver Foil Sheet. The sentiment inside the card is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, which in my opinion, should be in everyones’ stamp collection. There’s a sentiment for almost any occasion, and all the different fonts are great. Check out the cute font on the one I used on today’s card.

Wine Bottle Cover for Christmas Around the World

I guess I’m a little late posting this one, but you can always change the colors and the sentiment for any occasion, or save it for next year. The Christmas Around the World Designer Series Paper has so many different patterns, even some that can be used for non-Christmas projects. I used the design with lots of tiny mints for today’s project. And the sentiment is made using the Brightly Lit Christmas Bundle. Both the paper and the bundle are retiring. They’ll be available only until January 2, or while supplies last.

Here’s what I did:

Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:

  • Real Red card stock (CS) cut to 11″ x 12
  • CS scored along the 11″ side at 1-3/4″, 3-1/2″, 5-1/4″, 7″, 8-3/4″, 10-1/2″
  • CS scored along the 12″ side at 2″ and 10″
  • Christmas Around the World Designer Series Paper (DSP) cut to 1-1/2″ x 7-3/4″ (6 pieces)

Cut CS using Paper Snips, according to the diagram:

  • removed two smallest rectangles, and angled the leftover tab (in blue)
  • cut vertical score lines along the bottom just up to the first horizontal score line
  • marked along the top side at 7/8″, 2-5/8″, 4-3/8″, 6-1/8″, 7-7/8″, and 9-5/8″
  • cut from marks to the intersections of the vertical score lines and the first horizontal score line – this cuts away the green areas
  • used a 1/4″ circle punch to cut a hole in each triangle, about 1/2″ or so from the top – you may want to use a smaller circle punch, like the 1/8″,  depending on the size of your ribbon

Cheers to the Years stamp set, Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper DSP, wine bottle cover, Stampin' Up! #stampcandy

Stamped with the Brightly Lit Christmas stamp set:

  • sentiment in Real Red ink onto a scrap of Whisper White card stock (CS)

Die cut using the Christmas Lamppost Thinlits:

  • sentiment

Assembled the bottle cover:

  • all score lines burnished with a Bone Folder
  • DSP pieces glued onto the panels of the CS cover
  • sentiment adhered to one of the DSP pieces with Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • skinny tab on one side of the bottle cover adhered to the inside of the other end of the cover with Fast Fuse
  • bottle inserted into the cover to make the next step easier:
  • folded in one of the bottom tabs, then glued the opposite tab to it, making sure the tabs lined up with each other
  • repeated this step for the remaining two pairs of tabs, gluing them all together
  • ran a 22″ piece of ribbon through each hole in the top triangles, always front to back, then pulled it tight (not too hard or you’ll tear the paper) and tied a bow
