I used the new Game On stamp set and Well Suited Designer Series Paper, along with the Tasteful Textiles 3D Embossing Folder and Metallic Pearls, to make today’s birthday card. It’s a masculine card, but doesn’t have to be. It’s appropriate for anyone who enjoys chess… or puns.

Here’s what I made:

Here’s what I did:
Cut and scored with my paper trimmer:
- Very Vanilla Thick card stock (CS) cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, then scored in half at 4-1/4″
- Basic Gray CS layer cut to 5-1/4″ x 4″
- Well Suited Designer Series Paper (DSP) layer cut to 2-1/2″ x 2″
- Very Vanilla CS strip cut to 5-1/4″ x 3/4″
Stamped with the Game On stamp set:
- sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto the Very Vanilla CS strip, at the right end
- chess pieces in Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto a scrap of Very Vanilla CS
- chessboard design in Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto the inside of the card base
Fussy Cut using the Paper Snips:
Embossed using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder:
Assembled the card:
- burnished the fold in the card base with a Bone Folder
- Basic Gray CS layer glued onto the front of the card base
- sentiment strip glued onto the Basic Gray CS layer
- DSP layer glued over the sentiment strip, at the left end
- 3 silver pearls applied onto the card front using my Take Your Pick tool

I used the new Always In My Heart bundle (Always in My Heart stamp set and Floral Heart Dies) along with the Many Layered Blossoms Dies, and True Love Designer Series Paper colored with Stampin’ Write Markers to create today’s Happy Anniversary card. I was in the mood to use some fun colors, so I opted for Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo, and Highland Heather.

Cut and scored with my paper trimmer:
- Coastal Cabana card stock (CS) cut to 4-1/4″ x 11″, then scored in half at 5-1/2″
- True Love Designer Series Paper (DSP) layer cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″
- optional: white CS cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″ for the inside of the card base
Cut using the Floral Heart Dies:
- banner from a scrap of Coastal Cabana CS
Cut using the Many Layered Blossoms Die:
- bottom layer from a scrap of Flirty Flamingo CS
- bottom layer from a scrap of white CS
- top layer from a scrap of Highland Heather CS
Stamped with the Always in My Heart stamp set:
- sentiment in Versamark ink onto the die cut banner, then heat embossed in white
Colored using Stampin’ Write Markers:
- little diamonds of the DSP layer in rows of Highland Heather, Flirty Flamingo, and Coastal Cabana (leaving every fourth row white)
Assembled the card:
- burnished the fold in the card base with a Bone Folder
- DSP layer glued onto the front of the card base
- Flirty Flamingo CS floral die cut glued onto the DSP layer
- inner parts of the white CS floral die cut glued in the empty spaces of the Flirty Flamingo die cut
- Highland Heather CS floral die cut glued onto the bottom floral die cut layer
- folds in the banner burnished with a Bone Folder
- banner adhered over the floral die cuts using glue on the ends and Stampin’ Dimensionals in the middle
- 2 white Resin Hearts applied onto the banner using my Take Your Pick tool
- optional: white CS glued onto the inside of the card base

- sentiment in Melon Mambo ink onto a scrap of white CS
Cut using the Painted Labels Dies:

- some flowers from another piece of the same DSP pattern
Assembled the card:
- burnished the fold in the card base with a Bone Folder
- Melon Mambo CS layer glued onto the front of the card base
- DSP layer glued onto the Melon Mambo CS layer
- sentiment glued onto the DSP layer
- fussy cut flowers adhered onto the DSP layer using Black Stampin’ Dimensionals

I used the Quite Curvy stamp set in a not quite so curvy way. The photopolymer stamps are easy to manipulate. I used a curvy sentiment stamp and straightened it as I put it on the acrylic block. I colored only one of the flowers on the True Love Designer Series Paper with Stampin’ Blends Markers, to represent the “one in a million” of the sentiment.

- white card stock (CS) cut to 4-1/4″ x 11″, then scored in half at 5-1/2″
- Basic Black CS layer cut to 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″
- True Love Designer Series Paper (DSP) layer cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″
- white CS strip cut to 4-1/8″ x 1/2″
Stamped with the Quite Curvy stamp set:
- sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto the white CS strip
- NOTE: The stamp is curved, but I straightened it when I stuck it on the block.
Colored using Stampin’ Blends Markers:
- one flower on the DSP layer in Real Red and Daffodil Delight
Assembled the card:
- burnished the fold in the card base with a Bone Folder
- Basic Black CS layer glued onto the front of the card base
- DSP layer glued onto the Basic Black CS layer
- sentiment strip glued onto the DSP layer, with each end extending past the sides just a tiny bit

I used a few more things from the Dandy Garden Suite: The Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper, Ladybug Trinkets, and Mossy Meadow 3/16″ Braided Linen Trim.

- Mossy Meadow card stock (CS) cut to 4-1/4″ x 11″, then scored in half at 5-1/2″
- Bumblebee CS layer cut to 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″
- Designer Series Paper (DSP) layer cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″
- DSP strip cut to 3/4″ x 5-1/4″
- Whisper White CS cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″ for the inside of the card base
Stamped with the Dragonfly Garden stamp set:
- sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink onto a scrap of Bumblebee CS
Cut using the Stitched Rectangle Dies:
Assembled the card:
- burnished the fold in the card base with a Bone Folder
- DSP layer glued onto the Bumblebee CS layer
- 3 pieces of braided linen trim wrapped around the layers and adhered onto the back using Tear & Tape (or you could use Stampin’ Seal or Seal+)
- sentiment adhered over the trim using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals between the pieces of trim
- Ladybug Trinket adhered onto the sentiment using a Glue Dot
- DSP strip glued onto the Whisper White CS
- Whisper White CS glued onto the inside of the card base

Welcome to the December 2020 APPT Blog Hop! This month’s kit is called Beary Comforting and it makes 9 cards in 3 different designs. I used pieces from the kit an a few other things to create today’s projects: a get well card and a decorated Acetate Card Box.

Cut and scored with my paper trimmer:
- Cinnamon Cider card stock (CS) layer cut to 4″ x 5″
- white CS cut to 10-3/4″ x 8-1/8″, then scored as follows
- scored along the longer side at 4-1/2″, 5-1/8″, 9-5/8″, and 10-1/4″
- scored along the shorter side at 1/2″, 1-1/8″, 7″, and 7-5/8″

Stamped with the Beary Comforting stamp set:
- sentiments in Cinnamon Cider ink onto two labels from the kit: a round one and a smaller rectangular one
Cut using the Label Me Lovely Punch:
- a scrap of Cinnamon Cider CS
Assembled the card:
- burnished the fold in the card base with a Bone Folder
- gold wreath glued onto the front of the card base
- punched piece of Cinnamon Cider CS glued in the center of the gold wreath
- rectangular sentiment adhered onto a larger rectangular label using Stampin’ Dimensionals, putting the stem of a gold leaf sprig between them
- sentiment stack glued over the center of the wreath
- 3 Cinnamon Cider enamel dots applied on and around the sentiment using my Take Your Pick tool
Assembled the box:
- burnished all the folds in the insert with a Bone Folder, and used Paper Snips to trim away the green areas in the diagram
- long flap glued onto the inside of the opposite side to form the basic box shape
- insert slipped into an Acetate Card Box – it’s very snug but will fit – and closed up the ends
- Cinnamon Cider CS layer adhered onto the front of the box using Stampin’ Seal
- layer from the kit glued onto the Cinnamon Cider CS layer
- Stampin’ Dimensionals applied onto the back of the round sentiment
- 4 gold leaf sprigs stuck onto the Dimensionals on the back of the sentiment
- sentiment, with sprigs, adhered onto the center of the top layer
- 3 Cinnamon Cider enamel dots applied and around the sentiment using my Take Your Pick tool
