Perfectly Wrapped border dots

When I saw the new Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set, I just loved all the images and couldn’t wait to use them. But I wasn’t quite sure how to use the little cutie at the top right. I don’t remember ever seeing a Christmas card with an eskimo. But all I had to do was take a closer look at the sentiments in the set to figure out what I wanted to do.

Cookie Cutter Christmas bundle

This little bundled up guy (or girl) needs to be where it’s cold. And what more iconic place for an eskimo than beside an igloo?

Here’s how I did it:

I stamped the eskimo in black ink onto Whisper White card stock. I colored the image with Stampin’ Write Markers in Soft Suede, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Real Red, Pink Pirouette, and Crushed Curry. I used a Blender Pen with Crumb Cake ink to color the legs, and with Pink Pirouette ink for the face, to make the colors lighter. I used the Cookie Cutter Punch to cut him out.

I ran a piece of Whisper White card stock through the Big Shot in the Brick Wall embossing folder. I then used a Layered Circles Framelits Die to trace a circle on the back with a pencil. You can use anything you have on hand that is round and the right size. I used Paper Snips to cut around the top curve, down straight on the left side, and to the top of the second brick from the bottom on the right side. I cut an entrance on the right. I used a Soft Sky Stampin’ Write Marker to color in the cracks between the ice bricks. I went over the whole thing with a Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush (which unfortunately never show up well in photos.)

I used the Outdoor Adventures Framelits Dies to cut the mountains and the snow caps from Whisper White card stock. I glued the caps on the mountain tops, then went over just the caps with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

Now the assembly. The card base is Soft Sky card stock. I glued the mountains onto the card base. I adhered the igloo and the eskimo with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the first part of the sentiment on the card front, and the second part on the card’s interior, in Early Espresso ink.

Open House

On January 3, I hosted an Open House to showcase the new Occasions and Sale-a-bration items. About 20 people came and we had a blast. Everyone received a packet of catalogs along with a list of the new bundles, a Gum Balls reward form, a class schedule, a note about the BOGO sale coming up on January 24, and some other goodies.

Attendees could make a free card (see below,) sign up for classes and Stamp Club, see and touch the new products, have a snack, place an order, and laugh and have a good time. There was a prize drawing every hour for new products.

My team member, Judy Newsome, at far left, ran the Make & Take. Here she is with Geleta and Cindy.

My team member, Linda Krueger, on the left, helped me plan and set up the open house, and she helped customers at the event. Here she is with Rochelle, who is proudly showing off her Make & Take card – the first card she had ever made! 2016-01-03 13.00.41 There were displays of many of the new products with samples of cards and other projects made with them. Here are a few of them.

A fellow demonstrator, Robbye Hamilton, came by to offer her support, and it just happened to be her birthday. I didn’t know that ahead of time, so we had to make do. Here she is with a chocolate petit four “birthday cake” as Brian looks on.

Here is the Make & Take card from that day:

open house m&t aWe started with a Whisper White card base. We stamped the flower from the new Birthday Blooms stamp set in Blushing Bride directly onto the card base.

Then we glued on a strip of Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper.

Birthday Bouquet DSP b Birthday Bouquet DSP rolls

We stamped the sentiment in Rose Red onto Whisper White CS, then punched it out with the Large Oval Punch. We punched a piece of Blushing Bride card stock with the Scallop Oval Punch and glued the sentiment onto it. Then we attached it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The last touch was to place three Mint Macaron dots from the It’s My Party Enamel Dots. They are self-adhesive, and they really add a little somethin’ somethin’ to your projects. Here’s what we used. Click on the images to get your own!

Just 10 Days to BOGO Sale!

bogo sale

January 24, 1-4 PM

1621 Executive Park Lane NE, Atlanta, GA 30329

Please park along the street (Woodcliff) behind the building. Thanks!

I have a LOT of retired items that need new homes. I mean, boxes and boxes and boxes full. I can’t even walk through the room they’re stored in. I really have to let this stuff go… to make room for more new stuff! So, I’m having a BOGO sale:

Whatever you spend on retired items, I will give you that much in new items! You only pay tax and shipping on the new stuff. Yes, you get twice the product!

Example: Say you buy $100 in retired product from me. Then you get $100 toward an order of new product. So you can get $100 in new product and pay just $17.70 for tax and shipping OR you can subtract $100 from a larger order of new product.

PLUS you get a free Sale-a-bration item for every $50 you spend.

PLUS you get a Gum Ball for every $50 you spend. (See how Gum Ball Rewards work here.)

This is a wonderful way to stock up, not only on retired products you may have missed, but also on current products in the Annual and Occasions catalogs. Be sure to have your current product wish list ready before you come, to make the order process easier.

Tell your friends!

I hope to see you there!

I’ve used two new stamp sets: the sentiment is from Enjoy the Little Things, and the rows of hearts are from Birthday Blooms.

All the stamped images are on Whisper White card stock: the sentiment in Lost Lagoon and the hearts in Lost Lagoon, Blushing Bride, and So Saffron.

The card base is Lost Lagoon card stock, and the sentiment is matted with Blushing Bride and Lost Lagoon.

Super simple!

Happy New Year! The Journey Begins…

vw journey begins card b

While this card is meant for newlyweds, I think it’s appropriate for today. After all, we are beginning the journey through 2016.

I think the Beautiful Ride stamp set will be one of the most popular sets of the new Occasions catalog, because everyone I’ve talked to so far says it’s one of their favorites. The car alone is worth getting the set, but the accompanying images make it a must have.

Beautiful Ride stamp set

The Going Places suite of products, on pages 38-39 of the new Occasions catalog, is a perfect accompaniment for this stamp set. Here I used a piece of the Designer Series Paper Stack as the background. I added a very thin Basic Black layer behind the DSP, and adhered it to a Real Red card base.

I stamped the car in black on Real Red card stock. I cut out the car, and cut out the windows with my Paper Snips, then backed them with a piece of Window Sheet. I filled in some details (tires, wheels, bumpers, door handle, mirror stem) with a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker and a White Stampin’ Chalk Marker.

I stamped the luggage in black on Crumb Cake CS, cut it out with my Paper Snips, then filled in some details with Stampin’ Write markers in Smoky Slate (corners,) Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede, and Crumb Cake.

I stamped the cans in black on the strip of Very Vanilla CS, and colored them with a White Stampin’ Chalk Marker and Stampin’ Write Markers in Real Red, Crushed Curry, and Old Olive. I stamped the sentiment in black on the Very Vanilla strip. I matted the strip with Basic Black CS and glued it to the card front.

And finally, I adhered the car and luggage with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
