Merry Christmas! Today is the day – the one that kids of all ages look forward to all year long. The man in red made his rounds last night, and I hope he left some goodies under your tree. I’ve saved a special card to share with you today. I like “ugly” Christmas sweaters – I think they’re a hoot and a half – and this card is covered in them. The Christmas Sweaters stamp set has six different sweaters, all of which I used on today’s card. It’s retiring and will only be available through January 2, 2018, or while supplies last. The You’ve Got Style stamp set provides the perfect sentiment inside the card.

Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:
Whisper White Thick card stock (CS) cut to 4-1/4″ x 11″, then scored in half at 5-1/2″
Basic Black CS layer cut to 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″
Whisper White CS layer cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″
Stamped with the Christmas Sweaters stamp set:

Stamped with the You’ve Got Style stamp set:

NOTE: you may notice that I have an extra layer of Whisper White CS inside the card base. That’s because I made a mistake when I stamped the sentiment, so I stamped it again on a separate piece of Whisper White CS and glued it over the mistake.
Colored using Stampin’ Write Markers:
the sweaters in Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake, Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Pool Party, Island Indigo, Garden Green, Crushed Curry, So Saffron, and Pacific Point.

This card using the Birthday Blast bundle (Birthday Blast stamp set and Star Blast Edgelits are bundled to save you 10% only until May 31) is a showstopper, but took no time to make. As a matter of fact, it’s really simple.
Here’s what I made:
The bottom part of the silver flourish die cut is sandwiched between two pieces of card stock – the card base and the front layer.
Here’s what I did:
Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:
Whisper White Thick card stock (CS) cut to 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, then scored in half at 4-1/4″, then cut the top part of the front off 2-1/2″ down the score line and then across the front
Whisper White CS cut to 4″ x 3″ for the front
Whisper White CS cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″ for the inside
Stamped using the Birthday Blast stamp set:
flourish in Versamark ink onto the 4″ x 3″ Whisper White CS for the front, then heat embossed in silver
sentiment onto the 4″ x 5-1/4″ Whisper White CS for the inside, then heat embossed in silver
Die cut using the Star Blast Edgelits:

Assembled the card:
the base of the silver die cut flourish glued to the front of the card base, so the rest of the flourish is above the top of the card base front

A couple weeks ago I had the honor of presenting the new Wood Textures Suite at Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage event. I made quite a few samples, which I had planned to share with you closer to June 1, when the new 2017-2018 Annual Catalog goes live. But since I’ve been in bed with the flu, and haven’t made anything else, I figured I’d go ahead and give you some sneak peeks of this terrific new suite of products. Today’s card features the Wood Crate Framelits and the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper, along with the Pretty Kitty stamp set.

used Paper-Piercing Tool to poke a tiny hole on each side of the push pin
threaded a piece of Linen Thread through the poked holes, and adhered the ends to the DSP front with Fast Fuse.
