Welcome! It’s time for the InKing Royalty Blog Hop. This year’s Blog Hop themes are inspired by popular songs – this month’s song is “September Morn,” a Neil Diamond classic from the late ’70’s. You can hear the song at the bottom of this post. Today’s hop is filled with projects inspired by the beauty of Autumn. September is when the air becomes crisp and the leaves start to fall. We’re so excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the hop – scroll down to see the full list.
Most of us stampers have multiple stamp sets to use. I love mixing and matching products to see what I can come up with. I used 3 stamp sets on today’s card: Gallery Grunge, Wishing You Well, and Eastern Beauty. My idea was a bouquet of dried plants, tied with an organza bow, and lying on a wooden floor. How do you think I did?
Here’s what I made:
Now that I look at it, I wish I had stamped off the Sahara Sand background image before stamping it onto the card layer. I think it may have looked better lighter.*
Here’s what I did:
Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:
Soft Suede card stock (CS) cut to 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, then scored in half at 4-1/4″
Cajun Craze CS layer cut to 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″
Very Vanilla CS layer cut to 3-3/4″ x 5″
Very Vanilla CS cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″ for the inside of the card
Stamped with the Gallery Grunge stamp set:
background image in Sahara Sand ink onto the Very Vanilla CS layer (stamped off first?) *
Stampin with the Wishing You Well stamp set:
“bouquet”over the background image, first in Crumb Cake ink, and again in Soft Suede ink, slightly offset from each other
bow over bouquet stems in Cajun Craze ink
Stamped with the Eastern Beauty stamp set:
sentiment in Cajun Craze ink to the left of the bouquet
Assembled the card:
burnished the fold in the card base with a Bone Folder
stamped layer glued onto the Cajun Craze CS layer
Cajun Craze CS layer glued onto the front of the card base
4″ x 5-1/4″ Very Vanilla CS glued onto the inside of the card base

It’s time for the OSAT Blog Hop for September! This month’s theme is “I Need a Hero.” I opted to make a CAS eclipse card using the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Large Letters Framelits Dies. I also used the Sunshine Sayings stamp set, Classic Label Punch, and Festive Farmhouse Elements wooden embellishments. The coordinating Tiny Treat Box is made with the same DSP, and with Burlap ribbon and Frames Elements wooden embellishments. You can give these to any hero in your life.
Here’s what I made:
Here’s what I did:
Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:
Basic Black card stock (CS) cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, then scored in half at 4-1/4″
Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper (DSP) cut to 5-1/4″ x 4″
Whisper White CS cut to 5-1/4″ x 4″ for the inside of the card base
DSP cut to 2″ x 6″ and scored at 2″ and 4″
DSP cut to 2″ x 8″ and scored at 2″, 4″, and 6″
Stamped with the Sunshine Sayings stamp set:
card sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink onto a scrap of Whisper White Thick CS
box sentiment in black Stazon ink onto a wooden embellishment
Die cut using the Large Letters Framelits:
HERO from the DSP card layer, saving all the pieces
Cut using the Classic Label Punch:
card sentiment
Cut using the 1/2″ Circle Punch:
a semicircle from the front end of the 2″ x 8″ DSP strip
Colored using a Stampin’ Write Marker:
frame of the wooden element on the box in Basic Black
Assembled the card:
burnished the fold in the card base with a Bone Folder
DSP layer glued onto the front of the card base
inside pieces of the die cut letters R and O glued in place onto the card base
die cut letters HERO adhered over the cut out spaces in the DSP layer using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals
sentiment adhered onto the DSP layer using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals
3 small wooden stars glued onto the card front as shown
Whisper White CS glued onto the inside of the card base
Assembled the box:
Burnished all scored lines in the two 2″ wide DSP strips.
Assembled a Tiny Treat Box
inserted the 8″ strip into the box, to line the front, bottom, back and lid, being sure to have the semicircle cut out in the front
inserted the 6″ strip into the box, to line the two sides and the bottom
put treats in the box and closed it up
wrapped Burlap ribbon around the box and adhered the ends to the back of the wooden element using Tear & Tape, just loose enough to be able to slide it on and off the box

It’s time for the August edition of the Inspire, Create, & Share Blog Hop! This month our theme is Passion for Punches. I’ve decided to feature a brand new punch from the 2018 Holiday Catalog (which is now live!) It’s called the Sprig Punch and it’s part of the new Joyous Noel Suite on pages 28-29. You can buy it bundled with the Peaceful Noel stamp set to save 10%!
For some reason I keep calling this a Twig Punch instead of Sprig Punch. Even though “Sprig” makes more sense, once I get something wrong like that in my head, it’s hard to remember the right word. So if I missed correcting “Twig” anywhere in this post, know that I mean “Sprig.”
Here’s what I made:
Here’s what I did:
Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:
Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper (DSP) cut to 12″ x 3-1/4″
scored DSP along the long side at 4″, 6″, and 10″
scored DSP along the short side at 2″
Cut using Paper Snips:
cut away the two 2″ x 1-1/4″ sections from the DSP
Stamped with the Peaceful Noel stamp set:
sentiment in Merry Merlot ink onto a scrap of Shimmery White cardstock (CS)
Cut using the Sprig Punch:
3 sprigs from a scrap of Tranquil Tide CS
Die cut using the Layering Ovals Framelits:
sentiment
Decorated the box:
DSP glued onto a Lustrous White Mini Gable Box
*excess pieces trimmed around the top flaps of the box using Paper Snips
folded in bottom flaps of box, first the long tab with two arms, then the two short sides, then tucked in the long flap with one arm
put treats in the box, then closed the top by tucking the top tabs through the slots on the end tabs
ribbon tied around the box and tied in a bow, then *notched the ends of the ribbon using Paper Snips
sprigs glued onto the back of the sentiment
sentiment adhered onto the front of the box, over the ribbon, using Stampin’ Dimensionals

It’s time for the August 2018 A Paper Pumpkin Thing (APPT) Blog Hop. This month’s kit is called Blissful Blooms, and it is very aptly named. It includes everything you need to make 10 gorgeous floral cards. For the hop, we are using the kit to create alternate projects: one card and one 3D item.
When I was in a hotel room in Seattle, right after the Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip in July, the toiletries included an unusually shaped box with an asymmetrically shaped bar of soap in it. Of course, I had to bring it home to try to make one. And I thought today’s post was the perfect time to try it. I hope you like what I’ve made.
Here’s a video from Stampin’ Up! about this month’s kit:
Here’s what I made:
I was afraid I had stamped the sentiment too low on the front of the box, but I think it might look better even lower. What do you think?
Here’s how I made the card:
Stamped with the Blissful Blooms stamp set:
flowers in Flirty Flamingo ink onto the larger label
flower centers in Memento black ink
sentiment in Blackberry Bliss ink onto the smaller label
Die cut using the Layering Ovals Framelits:
a plain oval from a scrap from of Old Olive CS
a scalloped oval from a scrap of Blackberry Bliss CS
Assembled the card:
burnished the fold in the card base (with printed flowers in the center of the front) with a Bone Folder
all but about 5 of the green vellum leaves adhered onto the card front, with stems toward the center, larger ones first, then smaller ones over those
Old Olive CS oval adhered to the Blackberry Bliss CS oval
flower stamped label adhered to the Old Olive CS oval
sentiment label adhered to the flower label and ovals
ovals/labels grouping adhered over the leaves using Stampin’ Dimensionals
Here’s how I made the box:
Stamped with the Blissful Blooms stamp set:
flower in Flirty Flamingo ink onto a scrap of Whisper White CS
flower center in Memento black ink
sentiment in Blackberry Bliss ink onto the front of the box**
Cut using Circle Punches:
flower with a 1″ circle punch
a scrap of Old Olive CS with a 1-1/4″ circle punch
a scrap of Blackberry Bliss CS with a 1-3/8″ scallop circle punch
Assembled the box:
made a template: 7/8″ across the top, 1-1/2″ across the bottom, and 3-3/4″ sides
drew around the template four times, side by side, onto a piece of Whisper White Thick CS
added tabs, according to the template below
scored all inner lines using my Stampin’ Trimmer
cut out the box using Paper Snips
burnished all score lines with a Bone Folder
**stamped sentiment onto the front panel of the box
added adhesive to the long flap along one side of the box, and adhered the flap to the inside of the opposite end
folded in all flaps (adding in your small gift, of course)
about 5 of the green vellum leaves adhered around the top of the front panel of the box
punched flower adhered onto the Old Olive CS circle
Old Olive CS circle adhered onto the Blackberry Bliss CS circle
Blackberry Bliss circle adhered over the leaves using Stampin’ Dimensionals
tied a piece of the Flirty Flamingo twine from the kit around the box and tied in a bow

Welcome to the InKing Royalty Blog Hop for August! For today’s card, I used a brand new bundle from the 2018 Holiday Catalog called Falling For Leaves (Falling For Leaves stamp set and Detailed Leaves Thinlits Dies.) There are some spectacular images in this bundle. I used one of the simplest ones today. Don’t you just love sneak peeks?
This year’s IRBH themes are inspired by popular songs – this month’s song is “Dog Days Are Over.” You can hear the song at the bottom of this post. While we still feel the heat from a long, hot summer, August is a perfect time of year to start planning our Fall-themed cards. The projects in our hop will showcase Autumn, back-to-school and warm colors – you might even see a dog or two! We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
