Please Vote for My Card – All Things Thanks for Kylie’s Blog Highlight

Today I’m sharing a card that I designed for my March Stamp Club gathering. All the projects we made used the newest Sale-a-bration items. This one uses the 6×6 Glimmer Assortment, which you can get for FREE with a $50 purchase, but only while supplies last! I also used the All Things Thanks stamp set, the Flourish Thinlits Dies, May Flowers Framelits Dies, and Aqua Painters. I used Shimmery White card stock (CS,) instead of the regular Whisper White CS, because you can watercolor on it without any pilling.

Also, today a group of us are being highlighted internationally by Kylie Bertucci, a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator from Australia, and you can actually VOTE for my card. The top ten winners will get to be part of an international blog hop next month, so please vote for my card. You can do that here.

Our theme for this highlight is the All Things Thanks stamp set. It’s a wonderful stamp set with so many gorgeous sentiments, and we wanted to highlight how versatile it really is. You can see another card I’ve made with this stamp set here. Make sure you head over to Kylie’s blog to vote for my card. I would love to be chosen to do an international blog hop!

Here’s what I made:

This card is super easy to make with the All Things Thanks stamp set, 6x6 Glimmer Paper Assortment, Flourish Thinlits and May Flowers Framelits dies by Stampin' Up! #stampcandy

This card is super easy to make with the All Things Thanks stamp set, 6x6 Glimmer Paper Assortment, Flourish Thinlits and May Flowers Framelits dies by Stampin' Up! #stampcandy

Here’s what I did:

Cut and scored with the Stampin’ Trimmer:

  • So Saffron card stock (CS) cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, then scored in half at 4-1/4″
  • Basic Black CS cut to 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″
  • Shimmery White CS cut to 5-1/4″ x 4″

Stamped with the All Things Thanks stamp set:

  • sentiment in Basic Black Archival ink

Die cut using the Flourish Thinlits :

  • leaf shape from Mint Macaron Glimmer Paper

Die cut using the May Flowers Framelits:

  • flower from Sweet Sugarplum Glimmer Paper

Cut using the 1/2″ Circle Punch:

  • So Saffron CS for the flower center

Used Aqua Painters to watercolor:

  • Mint Macaron ink onto the Shimmery White CS, where the die cut leaves would go
  • Sweet Sugarplum ink onto the Shimmery White CS, where the die flower would go
  • NOTE: I used a drop of each color ink from the Refills, but you can also use the ink pads. I have both listed at the bottom of this post

Assembled the card:

  • 1/2″ So Saffron circle glued onto the back of the flower
  • Glimmer Paper leaf and flower glued over the watercolored areas of the Shimmery White CS
  • Shimmer White CS glued onto the Basic Black CS
  • Basic Black CS glued onto the So Saffron card base

And happy π Day to all my nerd friends out there!

I got this fun Hey Chick card from my Secret Stamper

I have a Secret Stamper who sends me a card each month. It’s one of the fun things we do in the Candy Hearts. We draw names and anonymously send a card to that person each month for 6 months, then we start over. Today I’m sharing a card I received from my Secret Stamper. She (I know it’s a she because unfortunately there are no hes are in our group right now) used the Hey Chick Sale-a-bration stamp set, Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper (DSP) Stack, the Layering Squares Framelits, and the Stitched Shapes Framelits to create this adorable card.

The Hey Chick stamp set has been very popular since it was released a couple months ago. It’s one of the Sale-a-bration items you can choose for free with a $50 order. But Sale-a-bration only lasts through the end of March, and all SAB items are now available only while supplies last. So if you still want this stamp set, or any of the other SAB items, don’t wait!

Hey, Chick stamp set by Stampin' Up! #stampcandy

By the way, have you noticed how perfectly the Stitched Shapes Framelits go with the Layering Circles, Layering Ovals, and Layer Squares Framelits sets? Well, they do! I will list them all near the bottom of this post.

Here’s what she made:

I got this card from my Secret Stamper. It's made with the Hey Chick Sale-a-bration stamp set from Stampin' Up! #stampcandy

Here’s what she did:

Cut and scored with a Stampin’ Trimmer:

  • Crumb Cake card stock (CS) to 4-1/4″ x 11″, and scored in half at 5-1/2″
  • Pool Party CS to 4″ x 5-1/4″
  • scrap of Whisper White CS to 1/2″ x 4″ or so
  • scrap of Crumb Cake CS to 5/8″ x 4″ or so

Stamped with the Hey Chick stamp set:

  • chicken in Basic Black ink onto a piece of Whisper White CS
  • sentiment in Crumb Cake ink onto the small strip of Whisper White CS

Colored with Watercolor Pencils:

  • chicken in Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, and Pacific Point
  • I think she may have blended the color just a bit with a Blender Pen

Die cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits:

  • Whisper White CS with chicken into a square

Die cut using the Layering Square Framelits:

  • DSP into a scalloped square

Made the sentiment banner:

  • notched one end of the two small strips of CS with the Banner Triple Punch
  • cut the other end of the Whisper White strip with Paper Snips
  • glued the Whisper White strip onto the Crumb Cake strip, lining up the notched ends
  • used Paper Snips to trim the other end of the Crumb Cake strip

Assembled the card:

  • Pool Party CS glued to the Crumb Cake card base
  • DSP scallop square glued onto the Pool Party CS
  • Whisper White stitched square with chicken glued onto the DSP and Pool Party CS
  • sentiment banner glued onto the Pool Party CS at the top

Here are the coordinating dies I mentioned earlier in this post:

The three “Layering” sets contain both plain and scalloped shapes, which look great with the stitched edges of the others.

One Last Sale-a-bration ICS Blog Hop – Any Occasion

Today I’m sharing two baby cards made with the Any Occasion stamp set. You can only get this Sale-a-bration stamp set with a $50 purchase now through March 31 – and it’s FREE!  It has 20 stamps, and it’s FREE! Now that’s a deal!

Our ICS Blog Hop Theme For March is One Last Sale-A-Bration. Don’t worry! SAB goes on for the rest of the month! But this is the last ICS Blog Hop during SAB. You have another 30 days to get a FREE SAB item for every $50 you spend! Scroll down for more information on Sale-a-bration.

Here’s what I made:

These sweet little cards are great to have around for all those baby showers you’re always invited to.

Visit stampcandy.net to learn how to make these sweet baby cards using the Any Occasion stamp set from the Sale-a-bration catalog, Whisper White Note Card & Envelopes, Lace Doilies, Bow Paper Clip Embellishments, Subtles Enamel Shapes. Colors are Soft Sky, Blushing Bride, and Whisper White. #stampcandy #stampinup

Here’s what I did:

I used Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes – these are wonderful to have around for quick and easy card making (they also come in Crumb Cake.)

The boy card has a piece of Soft Sky card stock (CS) glued to the card front. I stamped the images from the Any Occasion stamp set in Soft Sky ink onto a piece of Whisper White CS, attached a Bow Paper Clip, then glued it to the card front.

The girl card is the same except for the color (Blushing Bride) and instead of the paper clip, I tucked in half a Lace Doily, and added a Blushing Bride heart from the Subtles Enamel Shapes.

Easy peasy!

Flourishing Phrases with the new 6×6 Glimmer Paper

Like the past couple of days, today’s card features one of the newly released Sale-a-bration items that you can get for FREE with a $50 purchase. You can see all three of the new items here. The 6×6 Glimmer Paper is stunning. I’m not a big fan of using glitter. I mean, I think it’s pretty, but I don’t like the mess I always make with it. But this paper is so beautiful in Bermuda Bay, Mint Macaron, and Sweet Sugarplum that I just couldn’t resist.

Here’s what I made:

Learn to make this beautiful card using the Flourishing Phrases bundle and the new 6x6 Glimmer Paper by Stampin' Up! Learn to make this beautiful card using the Flourishing Phrases bundle and the new 6x6 Glimmer Paper by Stampin' Up!

Here’s what I did:

Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:

  • Mint Macaron card stock (CS) to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, then scored in half at 4-1/4″
  • 2 pieces of Whisper White CS to 5-1/4″ x 4″
  • Sweet Sugarplum CS to 5″ x 3-3/4″
  • Mint Macaron & Whisper White CS pieces big enough to die cut the circles

Stamped with the Flourishing Phrases stamp set:

  • front sentiment in Sweet Sugarplum ink onto the small piece of Whisper White CS
  • inside sentiment in Sweet Sugarplum ink onto one of the larger pieces of Whisper White CS
  • part of the large flourish image in Mint Macaron ink around the inside sentiment

Die cut using the Layering Circles Framelits:

  • the front sentiment that’s stamped onto Whisper White CS
  • a slightly larger circle from Mint Macaron CS

Die cut using the Flourish Thinlits Dies:

  • large flourish from Mint Macaron glimmer paper
  • Note – put the glimmer paper face down, then put the die on top of it. It’s easier to cut that way. There are times when you must cut it glitter side up, when you’re cutting out a word, for example, so it won’t be backwards.

Embossed with the Polka Dot embossing folder:

  • Sweet Sugarplum CS

Assembled the card:

  • inside piece glued to the inside of the card base
  • glimmer paper flourish glued to the embossed Sweet Sugarplum CS
  • the Whisper White circle glued onto the Mint Macaron circle
  • both circles adhered to the embossed Sweet Sugarplum CS with Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Sweet Sugarplum CS glued to the remaining large piece of Whisper White CS
  • the Whisper White CS glued to the front of the card base

Brand New Make a Medallion Sale-a-bration Stamp Set

Today’s card features another one of the three newly released Sale-a-bration items that you can get for FREE with a $50 purchase. You can see all three of them here. The Make a Medallion stamp set is A-MA-ZING! When I first saw it I thought, okay another medallion stamp set, we’ve seen them before. But this one is different. The different stamp images work together to create exquisite, intricate designs. The beautiful medallion on today’s card was made with only two stamps. Two! Well, not including the word Thanks. Check it out.

Make a Medallion stamp set, Party Animal DSP, Very Vanilla 1/2" Lace Ribbon, Layering Circles Framelits, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake #stampcandy #stampinup

Here’s what I did:

Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:

  • Crumb Cake CS to 4-1/4″ x 11″, and scored in half at 5-1/2″
  • Party Animal Designer Series Paper (DSP) to 4″ x 5-1/4″
  • Soft Suede and Very Vanilla CS cut to about 3″ square, to die cut the circles from

Stamped with the Make a Medallion stamp set:

  • one medallion image in Crumb Cake ink onto the Very Vanilla CS, in the center
  • another medallion image in Soft Suede ink, lining it up with the first image
  • THANKS in Soft Suede ink in the center of the medallion

Die cut using the Layering Circles Framelits:

  • the stamped medallion
  • the Soft Suede CS piece

Assembled the card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue:

  • wrapped two pieces of Very Vanilla 1/2″ Lace Ribbon around the DSP, and adhered on the back with Fast Fuse instead of the glue
  • the stamped circle onto the larger Soft Suede circle
  • the glued circles onto the DSP (You can use Stampin’ Dimensionals, if you prefer.)
  • DSP onto the card base
  • If you like, you can glue a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla CS to the inside of the card base. I didn’t because I think the Crumb Cake CS is plenty light enough to write on.
