Hop with InKing Royalty to Color Me Happy

This is my second blog hop in two days. Well, actually, it’s my second hop in 12 hours! I love hops! It’s fascinating to see all the different things hoppers come up with using the same theme. Scroll down to see the list of hoppers.

For today’s project, I used all five of the 2017-2019 In Colors along with the Sunshine Sayings stamp set, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Dies, and Butterflies Thinlits Dies, to create a sweet card for any loved one. It may look time consuming to cut and glue all the little strips of card stock, but it took an amazing short amount of time – less than 5 minutes!

You can get all 5 colors of card stock in one pack ( 4 sheets of each color) instead of buying a whole 24 sheet pack of each color! Both options are in the Here’s what I used section below.

InKing Royalty Team Blog Hop June 2017, Stampin' Up! #stampcandy

It’s Time for InKing Royalty’s monthly blog hop! This month’s theme is Color Me Happy, and we are featuring the new 2017-2019 In Colors. You can click on each color below to see all the products that come in that color.

Here’s what I made:

Color Me Happy for the InKing Royalty Blog Hop. 2017-2019 In Colors, Sunshine Sayings stamp set, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Dies, Butterflies Thinlits Dies, by Stampin' Up! #stampcandy

Color Me Happy for the InKing Royalty Blog Hop. 2017-2019 In Colors, Sunshine Sayings stamp set, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Dies, Butterflies Thinlits Dies, by Stampin' Up! #stampcandy

Here’s what I did:

Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:

  • Fresh Fig card stock (CS) cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, then scored in half at 4-1/4″
  • Tranquil Tide, Fresh Fig, Powder Pink, Lemon Lime Twist, and Berry Burst CS cut to 1/8″ x 4-1/4″ strips – about 7 of each color
  • Whisper White CS cut to 5-1/4″ x 4″ – 3 pieces

Die cut using the Butterflies Thinlits:

  • the largest butterfly from the top layer of Whisper White CS – I used the negative space, so I still have the detailed butterfly to use on another project
  • I used the Precision Base Plate with the Big Shot to get a cleaner cut from this intricate die

Die cut using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits:

  • “sunshine” from a scrap of Whisper White CS
  • “sunshine” from a scrap of Tranquil Tide CS

Stamped with the Sunshine Sayings stamp set:

  • sentiment in Tranquil Tide ink onto the top layer of Whisper White CS, using the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line it up

Assembled the card:

  • one solid 5-1/4″ x 4″ Whisper White layer glued to the inside of the Fresh Fig card base
  • 1/8″ CS strips glued onto the other 5-1/4″ x 4″ Whisper White CS layer, alternating the colors, then it flipped over – extra bits trimmed from around the edges (see below)
  • die cut Whisper White layer glued onto the CS strips
  • Whisper White die cut sentiment glued onto the Tranquil Tide one, slightly offset
  • die cut sentiments glued onto the die cut Whisper White CS layer

TA Blog Hop – Our Annual Catalog Faves

It’s time for the Thailand Achievers’ monthly Blog Hop! This month we’re sharing our favorites from the new 2017-2018 Annual Catalog. I always find this sort of thing very difficult. How can I possibly choose just a few of all the great products Stampin’ Up! offers? But I’ve tried very hard to narrow down the list. I can’t wait to see what all the other hoppers have listed as their faves! You can see the list of links after my faves below. (DSP means Designer Series Paper.)

Here are my faves (well, today anyway):

Color Theory Suite:

Spectacular! The stamp set and dies are A-MAZ-ING! Then there are the coordinating DSP, Card Pack, and Glitter Enamel Dots. (squeal!) When I was making samples for my display boards, I just couldn’t stop playing with this suite. The colors and images take you through all four seasons. And look at that adirondack chair die. Really? It just kills me, it’s so awesome.

Birthday Memories Suite:

Like many new stamp sets and dies, these are bundled to save you 10%, but this bundle also includes the Designer Series Paper! Why? Because the dies coordinate not only with the stamps, but also with the patterns in the DSP! The little storybook characters remind me of the ones I saw as a child. And there are so many coordinating colors in this suite that it will match almost anything.

Whole Lot of Lovely Suite:

For me this suite is all about the gorgeous paper. Though I do like that stamp set, too! Especially the extra large sentiment.

Wood Textures Suite:

I fell in love with this suite when I received it in March to make samples for the OnStage even in April. At first, I thought, okay, wood, no big deal. But then I started using it. Holy cow! The crate is very versatile, as is the spectacular Wood Textures DSP. In fact, this suite is too versatile not to have. And the Copper Trim! It’s great as is, but you can pull the sides to make it wider, or even put things down in it (it’s woven as a tube then flattened.)

Adorable! The different images in the DSP and in the stamp set make this suite super fun. There are some more elegant designs, too.

It’s A Guy Thing for ICS Blog Hop June

ICS’ theme for our June blog hop is “It’s A Guy Thing.” We’re showcasing cards for Birthdays, Father’s Day, or any other occasion for which you may need a male card. I decided to go with a general “You’re The Best” sentiment, so this card can be used for almost any occasion, depending on what you write on the inside. It’s almost a monochromatic card, the Old Olive broken up only by a bit of Whisper White.

The Glitter Enamel Dots on the left side of the card front may seem like they’re getting their colors from the graduated Designer Series Paper (DSP) underneath, but they actually come that way. These are terrific new embellishments that match the new Color Theory DSP perfectly, but you can use them with many different Stampin’ Up! products.

The Color Theory DSP is this month’s Free Gift when you place an online order of at least $75 and use the host code! Scroll down for details.

The new Label Me Pretty stamp set is bundled with the new Pretty Label Punch to save you 10%!

Here’s what I made:

This Old Olive card is made using the Label Me Pretty Bundle stamp set and Pretty Label Punch, Color Theory DSP, and Glitter Enamel Dots by Stampin' Up! #stampcandy

Scroll down to see what I did and what I used to make this card. Click on the arrow to check out the next stop on the hop, Nichole Loe at Scrappy Stamps and Ink!

Here’s what I did:

Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:

  • Old Olive card stock (CS) cut to 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, then scored in half at 4-1/4″
  • Whisper White CS cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″ (2 pieces: one for card front and one for inside)
  • Color Theory Designer Series Paper (DSP) cut to 3-3/4″ x 5″

Stamped with the Label Me Pretty stamp set:

  • sentiment and outline shape in Old Olive ink onto a scrap of Whisper White CS

Cut using the Pretty Label Punch:

  • stamped piece

Assembled the card:

  • sentiment adhered to DSP with Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Glitter Enamel Dots in graduated shades of Old Olive applied to DSP (I used a ruler to line up the dots)
  • DSP glued to first Whisper White CS layer
  • first Whisper White CS layer glued onto front of Old Olive card base
  • second piece of Whisper White CS glued to inside of card base

It’s a Girl Thing with Homemade for You for ICS May 2017 Blog Hop

The theme for the ICS May Blog Hop is “It’s A Girl Thing!” Send this sweet quilted card to your mom, sister, aunt, grandmother – whoever you want to give a warm toasty feeling to. After all, there’s no toastier spot than under a handmade quilt…unless maybe there’s also a cat on top…or a dog…but I digress. I used the Homemade For You stamp set for the sentiment, the Stitched Shapes Framelits for the quilted squares, and the Layering Squares Framelits for the scalloped edging.

Here’s what I made:

Retire In Color for InKing Royalty April Blog Hop

It’s hard to believe we’ve had these colors for two years already. Now they are the Retiring In Colors. Which one will you miss the most? They’re all great colors and useful in their own way, but I’ve definitely used Mint Macaron the most. So that’s the In Color I used for today’s card. I used a Sponge Brayer to color a piece of Irresistibly Floral Designer Series Paper in Mint Macaron, and used card stock, ink and ribbon all in Mint Macaron.

See what all the InKing royalty bloggers have made for the April 2017 blog hop! Stampin' Up! #stampcandy

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s April Blog Hop!  Today’s hop is filled with projects inspired by the Stampin’ Up!’s retiring 2015-2017 In Color Collection – our tributes to Cucumber Crush, Delightful Dijon, Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe and Watermelon Wonder.  What fun!  We’ve really enjoyed playing with these amazing colors over the past two years – and we are excited to share our creations with you today.  After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

The April InKing Royalty Blog Hop is all about the retiring In Colors. Join us as we hop from blog to blog to see all the wonderful projects this talented group has made.

Here’s what I made:

Happy Mother's Day card made with Circle of Spring stamp set, Falling Flowers bundle, Irresistibly Floral DSP, and Sponge Brayer by Stampin' Up! #stampcandy

Here’s what I did:

Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:

  • Mint Macaron card stock (CS) to 4-1/4″ x 11″, then scored in half at 5-1/2″
  • Whisper White CS to 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″
  • Irresistibly Floral Designer Series Paper (DSP) to 4″ x 5-1/4″
  • Whisper White CS to 4″ x 5-1/4″ for the inside

Stamped with the Circle of Spring stamp set:

  • sentiment in Mint Macaron ink onto a separate piece of Whisper White CS

Stamped with the Falling Flowers stamp set:

  • flowers in Mint Macaron ink onto the Whisper White CS for the inside

Die cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits:

  • oval around the stamped sentiment, with the sentiment near the bottom

Die cut using the May Flowers Framelits:

  • leaf from a scrap of Mint Macaron CS

Inked the DSP with a Sponge Brayer:

  • rolled the brayer over the DSP with Mint Macaron ink, putting more ink at the bottom and less as your get near the top

Assembled the card:

  • oval with sentiment glued to the DSP
  • Mint Macaron Mini Striped Ribbon adhered to DSP, over oval, using Fast Fuse, and ends wrapped to the back
  • 1/8″ Whisper White ribbon adhered over Mint Macaron ribbon with Fast Fuse
  • die cut leaf glued onto DSP and ribbon
  • DSP glued onto 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ Whisper White CS
  • Whisper White CS glued onto card base
  • Whisper White CS stamped with flowers glued to inside of card base
