Swatch Books:

What are Swatch Books? Just one of the greatest reference tools you can have! I use mine all the time.

For each pack of Designer Series Paper (DSP) in the new catalog, you’ll receive a 3″ x 6″ book with a piece of each and every pattern in the pack. The books are super easy to flip through, so you can see all the paper designs front and back. And the books don’t take up a lot of space, so you can always have them with you.

You never truly know what the DSPs look like until you have them in your hand. Flip through each swatch book to see if you want to buy the whole pack!

All the coordinating colors for each DSP are listed on the back, which is very helpful:

  • when you need to know just exactly which blue is in that piece of DSP you’re using
  • when you’re looking for a DSP to use with a specific color. For example, say I’m in the mood to make a card using Lemon Lime Twist. I simply fan out the books to see which ones list Lemon Lime Twist on the back, which is easy since the colors are listed in alphabetical order. Then those are the books I flip through to choose a DSP for my card.

There are 20 DSPs in the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalog, so each set has 20 books containing regular and Specialty DSPs. $45 includes shipping.

Here are a couple photos of swatch books from past catalogs, just to give you an idea of what you will receive:

Big Wishes Garden Impressions Card in Mango Melody

Notice the similarity between today’s card and yesterday’s card? The Designer Series Paper (DSP) in the background is the same pattern, but different colors. Another thing they have in common is their simplicity of design. The DSP does most of the talking. Today I’ve paired the new Big Wishes stamp set with Garden Impressions DSP and a new color, Mango Melody. Using the premade Note Cards & Envelopes makes card making especially quick and easy. What do you think?

Here’s what I made:

Statement of My Heart Garden Impressions Card

The Statement of My Heart photopolymer stamp set is a limited edition stamp set that is only available in the Gotta Have It All Bundle through May 31, 2018. Today I’ve paired it with the new Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper (DSP.) I usually use card stock and embellishments in colors from the DSP I’m using, but today’s card shows how you don’t have to do that. The two card stock colors are not in the DSP, but still go with it beautifully. Sometimes you just have to look at the DSP and the card stock together to see if they “go” together.

Here’s what I made:
