See this hug?

bear hug b

The new Bear Hugs stamp set is a-dor-a-ble. These hairy little critters have sweet faces and arms outstretched for big hugs. They’re perfect for mamas, papas, babies, or anyone else you want to send a paper hug to.

Bear Hugs stamp set

And the coordinating Framelits Dies make all the shapes a breeze to cut out.

Bear Hugs framelits

When I was deciding which paper to use for this card, I thought of this design from the Sweet Li’l Things Designer Series Paper. I mean, a bear belongs in the woods, right?

This fellow is quite dapper in his hat and bowtie. I stamped all the images in Early Espresso: the bear on Tip Top Taupe card stock, his nose on Very Vanilla, the hat on Chocolate Chip, the bowtie on Tempting Turquoise, and the sentiment on Hello Honey. I used the Framelits to cut out the bear, hat, and bowtie. I used Paper Snips to cut out the nose and the sentiment.

I used a Bone Folder to curl his arms into a hug, then glued the rest of his body to the card front. I adhered everything else with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The card base is Hello Honey, with a Tempting Turquoise layer under the DSP.

Birthday Blooms Sneak Peek

big flower card b wm The 2016 Occasions catalog is chock full of lovely new stamp sets. Birthday Blooms is one of them. Here I’ve used it with the Have A Cuppa Designer Series Paper Stack to create a note card with vertical lines, horizontal lines, and a floral center.

The card base is Whisper White Thick card stock. The first layer is a piece of Have A Cuppa DSP. Then three pieces of Calypso Coral seam Binding Ribbon notched at the ends with Craft Scissors, and the front layer of Shimmery White card stock with the stamped image.

I stamped the image in Basic Black Archival Ink, then used an Aqua painter to watercolor the image  in Calypso Coral, Old Olive, and Crushed Curry.

I’ve made this as a blank note card. I thought about putting a sentiment on the front of the card, but I like the symmetry of the design as it is. You can stamp any sentiment inside, or add a handwritten note.

Balloon Birthday Celebration

balloon birthday card b

I have been having a ball playing with my new items from the 2016 Occasions Catalog.

To see the new stuff in person, come to my Open House on Sunday, January 3, from noon to 4 PM. See the details here.

balloon birthday card aFor today’s card I used the new Balloon Celebration stamp set. I love the way the balloons look so sheer and you can see through them where they overlap. This stamp set is also available in a bundle with the coordinating punch to save 15% on both!

Balloon Celebration stamp set

I stamped the strings in Crumb Cake directly on the Whisper White card base. I stamped the balloons in Pink Pirouette, and the shading in  Blushing Bride.

I cut a strip of Crumb Cake card stock and glued it onto the card base.

I stamped the sentiment on Whisper White card stock, trimmed around it with my Stampin’ Trimmer, and rounded the corners with the Project Life Corner Punch. I adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Merry Christmas!

Merry-Christmas-Banner-Clipart

Today I’m sharing two projects.

The first is a card made with current items and one new Occasions item sneak peek. This was one of our Make & Takes for the December Candy Hearts team meeting.

The card base is Basic Black card stock. For the inside, you can add a Whisper White card stock panel, or you can write directly on the black with a White Signo Gel Pen.

We embossed a piece of Gold Foil Sheet with the new World Traveler Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the card front.

We cut peace from a Red Foil Sheet with the Christmas Greetings Thinlits Dies and glued it onto the card front.

We stamped ON EARTH from the Holly Jolly Greetings stamps set in Real Red on Whisper White. We cut it into a strip with scissors and used the 1″ Square Punch to notch the end. Then we attached it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimentionals.

peace on earth card aHere’s what we used for the card:

The second project is another last minute gift idea. A tag is a quick way to dress up a bottle of anything. This one is on a nice bottle of Olive Oil. I made it as one of the Make & Takes at the team meeting at Subway earlier this month.

The tag base is a piece of Whisper White card stock. Real Red card stock surrounds the hole and mats the piece of Home For Christmas Designer Series Paper. The word Cheers is also cut from Real Red card stock, with the Greetings Thinlits Dies.

The tree is a piece of Gold Glimmer Paper cut with the Tree Punch.

Super quick and easy!

BOGO! For every dollar you spend on retired items, you get a dollar toward an order of new products! For example, if you spend $50 on retired products, you get $50 toward a new order! You just add tax and shipping. So while you’re shopping the retired items, remember that for everything you buy, you’re actually getting twice that amount in merchandise! Now that’s a sweet deal!

Put together your wish list before you come, to make your order go more smoothly!

Do you have retired Stampin’ Up! products that you’d like to sell so you can order new products? Bring them to me by January 22 to add to the sale. Every dollar you sell goes toward an order of new products! All products must be marked with price and your ID – I recommend using the same washi tape for each item so we’ll know which items are yours when people are checking out. Using Leftovers for InKing Royalty Blog Hop

InKing Royalty blog hop 09-30-15

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s September Blog Hop. We are helping to prepare you for October with super-fun Tricks OR Treats. Our projects center around fun techniques (tricks) or creative ways to package up Halloween goodies (treats.) In some cases you might get BOTH! What fun! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I’ve used a few tricks (sponging, heat embossing, crumpling) and leftovers from the Witching Decor Project Kit, to create this candle label. The candle itself is a battery operated black candle from the local Halloween store.

For the label, I used four leaves, a label, and a Spider Web Doily from the kit. I flipped the black doily over to the white side and inked it up in Cajun Craze.

I sponged the label in Delightful Dijon, Cajun Craze, Tangelo Twist, and Soft Suede inks to create a mottled effect. I thought about embossing in clear and inking in Basic Black or Early Espresso – the Joseph’s Coat technique. But then I decided to heat imboss the image in gold.

I crumpled the leaves with my hands and inked them up in Soft Suede.

I glued all the parts together and glued the label onto the card stock belly band.
