This Spooky Mini Pizza Box Speaks for Itself

If you’ve been reading my blog this week, you know that I’ve been in Halloween mode, and you know that the Spooky Cat Bundle, Spooky Night Designer Series Paper (DSP,) and The Little Things stamp set are perfect for this holiday. For today’s project I used all three to create this Mini Pizza Box treat. I also used the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies to cut a square window in the box lid, so you can see the lemon lime “twist” jelly beans inside. I didn’t put a sentiment of any kind on this project, because I think the cat on the front says it all.

Here’s what I made:

Mini Pizza Box filled with jelly beans decorated with Stampin' Up! Spooky Cat by Stamp Candy Mini Pizza Box filled with jelly beans decorated with Stampin' Up! Spooky Cat by Stamp Candy

Here’s what I did:

Cut with my Stampin’ Trimmer:

  • Window Sheet cut to 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″

Stamped with the Spooky Cat stamp set:

  • one rat in black Memento ink on the lid

Stamped with The Little Things stamp set:

  • spiders around all four sides of the box, and one on the box lid.
  • NOTE: It’s much easier to stamp the box before you fold it to assemble!)

Die cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits:

  • square window from the box lid

Cut using the Cat Punch:

  • one black cat from Spooky Night Designer Series Paper (DSP)
  • colored cat’s eyes with a Lemon Lime Twist marker, then covered them with a dot of glue from the Fine Tip Glue Pen. Allow the glue to dry completely before using. You should probably do this step first.

Assembled the project:

  • Window Sheet adhered to inside of box lid with Tear & Tape
  • adhered cat to the Window Sheet with Tear & Tape
  • filled box with Lemon Lime Jelly Bellies

Spookyliciousness in a Pizza Box with The Little Things

The Little things stamp set is really versatile, with stamp themes for Halloween, Christmas, Valentines, or any other occasion when you want to give someone a treat or gift. Today’s project uses the Spooky-licious stamp with a sponged Mini Pizza Box cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, and a Window Sheet. To see the other project I made using this same stamp, click here.

You should have seen me shopping for candies to put in all the treat containers I’ve been making. Our local supermarket has a large of candies sold by weight, so you can get as much of each type as you want. I was buying lots of jelly beans because they are so easy to use for this. I got a few odd looks as I put bag after bag of candies into my cart. Someone said I must really like them and asked me to recommend some good jelly bean flavors. Unfortunately I couldn’t’ help them because I wasn’t buying them by flavor. Instead I was buying them by color to match my projects!

Here’s what I made:

Spookylicious Mini Pizza Box made using The Little Things stamp set, stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, Window Sheets, and Stampin' Sponges by Stampin' Up! #stampcandy Halloween treats, jelly beans

Spookylicious Mini Pizza Box made using The Little Things stamp set, stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, Window Sheets, and Stampin' Sponges by Stampin' Up! #stampcandy Halloween treats, jelly beans

Here’s what I did:

Cut with my Stampin’ Trimmer:

  • Window Sheet cut to 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″

Stamped with The Little Things stamp set:

  • Spookylicious image in Basic Black Archival ink onto the cut Window Sheet
  • Spookylicious image in Basic Black Archival ink onto a scrap of Pumpkin Pie card stock (CS)

Cut using Paper Snips:

  • the banner from the image stamped onto Pumpkin Pie CS

Die cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits:

  • circle from the top of the Mini Pizza Box
  • NOTE: When we demonstrators were first introduced to the new Holiday Catalog in Thailand in July, I was told to use the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies instead of the Layering Circles/Ovals/Squares Framelits Dies, because they cut through the thick box better.

Colored using Stampin’ Sponges:

  • the exterior of the Mini Pizza Box in Pumpkin Pie and Tangerine Tango inks, layering the colors over and over to achieve the look I wanted (this actually goes very quickly)

  • banner adhered to the outside of the box lid, covering the banner portion of the image on the Window Sheet, using Tear & TapeSpookylicious Mini Pizza Box made using The Little Things stamp set, stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, Window Sheets, and Stampin' Sponges by Stampin' Up! #stampcandy Halloween treats, jelly beans

Window Box of Faux Inlaid Wood Textures

This box may look very involved, but it really isn’t at all. It’s just a few pieces of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper (DSP) cut with the Window Box Thinlits Dies and some glue. Two shades of the photorealistic wood images of the DSP combine to give the look of inlaid wood. Nary a stamp was used. Of course, you could stamp a nice tag to go on the box, if you plan to use it as a gift.

Here’s what I made:

Check out this lovely box. It looks like inlaid wood, but it was made with the Window Box Dies and Wood Textures Designer Series Paper DSP by Stampin' Up! #stampcandy

Here’s what I did:

Die cut using the Window Box Thinlits:

  • Wood Textures Designer Series Paper (DSP) cut with the large box die (2 pieces of a light colored paper, and 2 pieces from a dark colored paper)
  • all six square sides of the light colored pieces with the smaller square die with hearts
  • top of one light colored piece with the larger hexagonal die

Cut with my Stampin’ Trimmer:

  • along edges of all sections dark colored die cut pieces, cutting them down just a tiny bit smaller

Assembled the box:

  • dark colored pieces glued onto the inside of the light colored pieces, so the dark shows through
  • flaps of one piece glued to the corresponding spots on the other piece to make the box

Crate Full of Balloons for the 4th of July

Happy Independence Day, America! Today is one of the most popular holidays in the United States. It’s in the summer, when most kids are out of school, and many companies shut down for the week. The beaches, lakes, parks, and backyards are filled with people swimming and barbecuing. There are fireworks displays once it gets dark. I’m celebrating the holiday by sharing a patriotic project with you today. Check out this crate full of red, white, and blue balloons.

These are perfect for party favors or even to use as place cards – just add a tag with the person’s name!

Here’s what I made:

Happy 4th of July! Make this patriotic crate with the Wood Words stamp set, Wood Crates Framelits Dies, Wood Textures DSP, Balloon Celebration stamp set, and Balloon Bouquet Punch by Stampin' Up! #stampcandy

Here’s what I did:

Die cut using the Wood Crate Framelits:

  • 2 of the crate shapes from Wood Textures Designer Series Paper (DSP)

Stamped with the Wood Words stamp set:

  • stars in Real Red and Pacific Point inks onto the sides of the DSP crate pieces

Stamped with the Balloon Celebration stamp set:

  • balloons in Real Red, Pacific Point and Smoky Slate inks onto Whisper White card stock (CS)
  • NOTE: I stamped off before stamping some of the Real Red and Pacific Point balloons

Cut using the Balloon Bouquet Punch:

  • stamped balloons
  • same number and sizes of balloons from Whisper White CS

Assembled the project:

  • bottoms of the two crate pieces glued onto together
  • flaps glued to the inside of the ends of the crate
  • balloons arranges and glued together
  • Whisper White Bakers Twine taped to the back of each stamped balloon, and wrapped around the bottom of the three balloons at the bottom of the cluster
  • a piece of craft wire taped to the back of the balloon cluster, and bent at a 90 degree angle so I could tape it to the inside bottom of the crate
  • Whisper White balloons glued to the backs of the stamped balloons, to cover the tape and wire. You could also trace around the whole balloon cluster onto a large piece of CS, cut it out with scissors, and glue it to the back.
  • twine pieces tied onto the bottom part of the wire, to pull them taut (but not too taut or it will come apart)
  • wire and twine taped to the inside bottom of the crate
  • crate filled with whatever you like: candies, popcorn, small gifts, etc. (This was one of the items I made for a display board, so it had to be light enough to be held up with velcro. I stuffed it with two Easter bunny tails I just happened to have on hand.)

Happy July with a Wood Crate of Full of Yummy Treats

Happy July! Even though the first day of summer was 10 days ago, to me July is the epitome of the summer months. I think maybe because some schools don’t get out for the summer until June, and some schools go back in August. July was always the only pure summer month to me growing up. It’s also the month of my birthday, so it holds a special place in my heart.

To celebrate the first day of July, I’m sharing one of the projects I made for the display board at OnStage back in April. I used the Wood Words Bundle (Wood Words Stamp Set and Wood Crate Framelits Dies) and the ever so versatile Wood Textures Designer Series Paper. The crate contains marshmallows, because I needed something lightweight so it could be held up with velcro. But just imagine the goodies you could put in it!

Here’s what I made:

Patriotic and Festive Wood Crate with marshmallows, Wood Crate Framelits, Wood Textured DSP, Wood Words stamp set and bundle, gold binder clips by Stampin' Up! #stampcandy

Here’s what I did:

Die cut using the Wood Crate Framelits:

  • 2 crate pieces from Wood Textures Designer Series Paper (DSP)

Stamped with the Wood Words stamp set:

  • “Fresh Treats” in Real Red ink onto each end piece of the crate
  • stars in Real Red ink onto the front of the crate

Assembled the crate:

  • folded all the score lines in the crate pieces
  • overlapped and glued together the bottoms
  • glued the flaps inside each end piece
  • put mini marshmallows in a 3″x6″ Gusseted Bag and closed with a Gold Binder Clip
  • put bag in crate along with some red crinkled gift bag filler I had left over. You could also cut Real Red CS into skinny strips and crinkle them up with your hands
