It’s time for the OSAT Blog Hop for September! This month’s theme is “I Need a Hero.” I opted to make a CAS eclipse card using the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Large Letters Framelits Dies. I also used the Sunshine Sayings stamp set, Classic Label Punch, and Festive Farmhouse Elements wooden embellishments. The coordinating Tiny Treat Box is made with the same DSP, and with Burlap ribbon and Frames Elements wooden embellishments. You can give these to any hero in your life.
Here’s what I made:
Here’s what I did:
Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:
Basic Black card stock (CS) cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, then scored in half at 4-1/4″
Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper (DSP) cut to 5-1/4″ x 4″
Whisper White CS cut to 5-1/4″ x 4″ for the inside of the card base
DSP cut to 2″ x 6″ and scored at 2″ and 4″
DSP cut to 2″ x 8″ and scored at 2″, 4″, and 6″
Stamped with the Sunshine Sayings stamp set:
card sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink onto a scrap of Whisper White Thick CS
box sentiment in black Stazon ink onto a wooden embellishment
Die cut using the Large Letters Framelits:
HERO from the DSP card layer, saving all the pieces
Cut using the Classic Label Punch:
card sentiment
Cut using the 1/2″ Circle Punch:
a semicircle from the front end of the 2″ x 8″ DSP strip
Colored using a Stampin’ Write Marker:
frame of the wooden element on the box in Basic Black
Assembled the card:
burnished the fold in the card base with a Bone Folder
DSP layer glued onto the front of the card base
inside pieces of the die cut letters R and O glued in place onto the card base
die cut letters HERO adhered over the cut out spaces in the DSP layer using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals
sentiment adhered onto the DSP layer using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals
3 small wooden stars glued onto the card front as shown
Whisper White CS glued onto the inside of the card base
Assembled the box:
Burnished all scored lines in the two 2″ wide DSP strips.
Assembled a Tiny Treat Box
inserted the 8″ strip into the box, to line the front, bottom, back and lid, being sure to have the semicircle cut out in the front
inserted the 6″ strip into the box, to line the two sides and the bottom
put treats in the box and closed it up
wrapped Burlap ribbon around the box and adhered the ends to the back of the wooden element using Tear & Tape, just loose enough to be able to slide it on and off the box

It’s time for the August edition of the Inspire, Create, & Share Blog Hop! This month our theme is Passion for Punches. I’ve decided to feature a brand new punch from the 2018 Holiday Catalog (which is now live!) It’s called the Sprig Punch and it’s part of the new Joyous Noel Suite on pages 28-29. You can buy it bundled with the Peaceful Noel stamp set to save 10%!
For some reason I keep calling this a Twig Punch instead of Sprig Punch. Even though “Sprig” makes more sense, once I get something wrong like that in my head, it’s hard to remember the right word. So if I missed correcting “Twig” anywhere in this post, know that I mean “Sprig.”
Here’s what I made:
Here’s what I did:
Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:
Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper (DSP) cut to 12″ x 3-1/4″
scored DSP along the long side at 4″, 6″, and 10″
scored DSP along the short side at 2″
Cut using Paper Snips:
cut away the two 2″ x 1-1/4″ sections from the DSP
Stamped with the Peaceful Noel stamp set:
sentiment in Merry Merlot ink onto a scrap of Shimmery White cardstock (CS)
Cut using the Sprig Punch:
3 sprigs from a scrap of Tranquil Tide CS
Die cut using the Layering Ovals Framelits:
sentiment
Decorated the box:
DSP glued onto a Lustrous White Mini Gable Box
*excess pieces trimmed around the top flaps of the box using Paper Snips
folded in bottom flaps of box, first the long tab with two arms, then the two short sides, then tucked in the long flap with one arm
put treats in the box, then closed the top by tucking the top tabs through the slots on the end tabs
ribbon tied around the box and tied in a bow, then *notched the ends of the ribbon using Paper Snips
sprigs glued onto the back of the sentiment
sentiment adhered onto the front of the box, over the ribbon, using Stampin’ Dimensionals

The Holiday Catalog goes live tomorrow! Today I’m sharing another sneak peek. I CASEd this project right from page 51 of the catalog. It’s made using the Spooky Sweets bundle, the Takeout Thinlits Dies, and the Farmhouse Framelits Dies.
CASE = copy and share everything OR copy and selectively edit
Here’s what I made:
Here’s what I did:
Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:
Gray Granite card stock (CS) cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″
Stamped with the Spooky Sweets stamp set:
bats in Memento black ink onto a scrap of Gray Granite CS
sentiment in Gorgeous Grape and Granny Apple green inks onto a scrap of Whisper White CS
NOTE: I colored the sentiment using Stampin’ Write Markers
Die Cut using the Takeout Thinlit Dies:
Takeout Box (2 pieces for one box) from the 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ Gray Granite CS
NOTE: You can get 2 boxes (4 pieces) from an 8-1/2″ x 11″ piece of CS
Flecked using a Stampin’ Write Marker:
the outsides of the 2 box pieces in Basic Black
NOTE: I later realized the sample in the catalog was stamped with the textured image from the Spooky Sweets stamp set in black ink. That’s probably easier, and neater, than flicking ink from a marker.
Die cut using the Farmhouse Framelits:
fence from a scrap of Basic Black CS
Punched using the Spooky Bat Punch:
bats
Punched using the 1-1/4″ Circle Punch:
sentiment
Assembled the box:
burnished the folds in the 2 box pieces with a Bone Folder
2 box pieces glued together on the bottom and along two sides (Tear & Tape is also a good choice for this)
closed the top of the box (after putting treats inside)
used my fingers to bend pieces of the fence
fence glued onto the front of the box, and the ends trimmed away using Paper Snips
sentiment adhered onto the front of the box using Stampin’ Dimensionals
one bat glued onto the sentiment, and the other bat glued onto the box
tied a piece of Granny Apple Green ribbon around the box and tied a bow

Today I’m sharing Make & Take projects I designed for our Candy Hearts August team meeting. I used several new products from the 2018 Holiday catalog (which goes live in just 5 days!): Christmas Traditions Punch Box, Farmhouse Christmas stamp set, Sprig Punch, Corrugated Dynamic embossing folder, Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper, 5/8″ Striped Burlap Trim, and Festive Farmhouse Cotton Twine. I designed the projects in two different color schemes, because I didn’t have enough of one for everyone at the meeting. Other that the colors, they are identical.
I learned how to make the Mini Self Close Boxes from Hilary Sosebee, who got it from Dani Dziama, who got it from Jana Trautmann. I have no idea who originated the design. If you know, please tell me so I can give them credit. The way the box is scored and folded keeps it closed at the top. You just squeeze the sides in to open it. It will hold 1 or 2 chocolate candies, depending on their size.
Here’s what I made:
Here’s how I made the cards:
Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:
Cherry Cobbler card stock (CS) cut to 4-1/4″ x 11″, then scored in half at 5-1/2″
Mossy Meadow CS cut to 4-1/4″ x 11″, then scored in half at 5-1/2″
Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper (DSP) cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″ (one for each card – I used a red/black design for the red card base and a red/green design for the green card base
Crumb Cake CS cut to 2-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ (one for each card)
Very Vanilla CS cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″ for the inside of the card base (one for each card)
Stamped with the Farmhouse Christmas stamp set:
sentiment in Memento black ink onto a scrap of Very Vanilla CS
sentiment in Mossy Meadow onto a scrap of Very Vanilla CS
Embossed using the Corrugated Dynamic TIEF:
the Crumb Cake CS pieces
Die cut using the Layering Circles Framelits:
sentiments
Cut using the Sprig Punch:
two pieces from a scrap of Basic Black CS
two pieces from a scrap of Mossy Meadow CS
Assembled the cards:
burnished the fold in the card bases with a Bone Folder
DSP layers glued onto the fronts of the card bases
embossed Crumb Cake CS layers glued onto the DSP layers
striped burlap ribbon adhered over the Crumb Cake CS layers using Tear & Tape
punched twigs glued to the back of the sentiments
sentiment/twigs glued onto the Crumb Cake CS layers
Very Vanilla CS glued onto the inside of the card bases
Here’s how I made the boxes:
Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:
DSP cut to 4-1/4″ x 2-7/8″
on the longer side, scored at 2″ and 4″
on the shorter side, scored at 1/2″ from each side
along the bottom (long side with the 1/4″ section at the right) scored at 1″ and 3″ – only up to the first horizontal score line
cut along the short score lines along the bottom (at 1″, 2″, 3″ and 4″) and along the top (at 2″)
cut away the two tiny rectangles, one at top right and one at bottom right
scored diagonally from the top left corner (on the upper horizontal score line) down to the cut at 1″ (on the lower horizontal score line)*
scored 3 more diagonal lines, between the two horizontal lines, as shown in the photo below*
* You may find the diagonal score lines easier using a ruler and stylus
optional: cut a piece of coordinating card stock (CS) to 1″ x 1″
Cut using the Detailed Trio Punch:
folded the DSP in the middle and rounded the two top corners
Stamped using the Christmas Traditions stamp set:
sentiment in Memento black ink onto a scrap of Whisper White CS
sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink onto a scrap of Whisper White CS
Cut using the Christmas Traditions Punch:
sentiments
Assembled the boxes:
burnished all the score lines using a Bone Folder
applied Tear & Tape to the small tab (on the outside) and adhered it to the inside of the opposite end
opened the bottom, folded in the four flaps, and glued in place
optional: glued the 1″ x 1″ CS to the bottom of the box
tied a piece of twine (Basic Black/Mossy Meadow) around the tops of the boxes (You might want to secure it using a Mini Glue Dot.)
glued sentiments onto the fronts of the boxes
To open the box, just squeeze in the two sides.

If you ever need a sweet (and fast) way to present a small treat or gift, this adorable little diaper fold treat holder is perfect. You can insert candies, tea bags, cash, jewelry, or anything else small. I made this one from a piece of Tropical Escape 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper – I love the pinks and greens in this paper! The sentiment is from the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set. I stuffed the treat holder full of Key Lime hard candies that I got from Amazon.com.
The diaper fold takes mere seconds! The rest depends on how fancy you want it decorated. This one took less than 5 minutes total.
Here’s what I made:
Here’s what I did:
Stamped with the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set:
sentiment in Granny Apple Green ink onto a scrap of Whisper White CS
Die cut using the Layering Oval Framelits:
sentiment
slightly larger oval from a scrap of Blushing Bride card stock (CS)
Assembled the treat holder:
You can see photos of each step in my blog post here.
Tropical Escape 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) folded in half diagonally

top triangle on the front folded down over the two previous folded pieces
burnished all folds with a Bone Folder
sentiment glued onto the Blushing Bride CS oval
Blushing Bride CS oval adhered to the front of the treat holder using Stampin’ Dimensionals

It’s time for the OSAT Blog Hop for August! This month we’re doing a Tic Tac Toe challenge. We must choose three items in a row (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally) and include all three on our projects. I used the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set and Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies to create this card and gift container. The container came with cashews in it. Cashews would make a nice little gift, but since I ate the cashews already (they were honey roasted – how could I not?) I washed out the container and now it’s ready for candies or a small gift.
I’ve included a Holiday catalog sneak peek. The wood grain paper is from the new Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper, which is part of the new Festive Farmhouse suite. If you can’t wait until September 5 to order from the Holiday catalog, click here to join my team now. You can add the new products to your Starter Kit, and then you can order them on a demonstrator order!
Here’s the Tic Tac Toe challenge:
I went with the left column: Ribbon, DSP, Flowers.
First I used Gray Granite 1/2″ Textured Weave Ribbon on the card. Then I used Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper (DSP) on both the card and the container. And I used flowers (Crushed Curry dots) along the bottom of both projects.
The idea is that the critters are flying over a field of yellow flowers with a wooden barn or house in the background. At least that’s what I was going for.
Here’s what I made:
Here’s what I did:
Cut and scored with my Stampin’ Trimmer:
Gray Granite card stock (CS) cut to 4-1/4″ x 11″ , then scored in half at 5-1/2″

Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper (DSP) cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″
Whisper White CS cut to 3″ x 1/2″
Basic Black CS cut to 3-1/2″ x 5/8″
Crushed Curry CS cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″
Whisper White CS cut to 3-5/8″ x 4-7/8″
DSP cut to 12″ x 2-1/2″ (You’ll cut it to fit around your container.)
Stamped with the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set:
dragonfly in Memento black ink onto the 4″ x 5-1/4″ DSP layer
filled in dragonfly’s wings in Gray Granite ink
first part of sentiment in Gray Granite ink onto the 3″ x 1/2″ Whisper White CS strip
second part of sentiment in Gray Granite ink onto the 3-5/8″ x 4-7/8″ Whisper White CS
bee in Memento black ink onto the 3-5/8″ x 4-7/8″ Whisper White CS
dots (flowers) in Crushed Curry ink along the bottom of both pieces of DSP
Die cut using the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits:
one large dragonfly, one dragonfly cluster, and 2 bees from a scrap of Basic Black CS
Colored using a Stampin’ Write Marker:
bee’s body in Crushed Curry ink
Assembled the card:
burnished the fold in the card base with a Bone Folder
sentiment glued onto the Basic Black CS strip, then cut the ends of the Basic Black CS using Paper Snips
2 pieces of ribbon adhered onto the DSP layer using Tear & Tape

Assembled the container:
die cut critters glued onto the 12″ x 2-1/2″ DSP, and trimmed any excess off the edges
12″ x 2-1/5″ DSP glued onto the nut container
