Nov 10, 2020 | Cards, Christmas, Gallery, Gift Card Holder, Gifts, Holiday |
I used the Gift Wrapped Bundle (Gift Wrapped stamp set and Gift Bow Builder Punch) to make today’s project. It’s a Christmas card with a surprise pop-up gift card holder inside. I also used the Label My Fancy punch, Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper, and Playful Pets Designer Series Paper to create the wrapped gift on the front of the card. This is one of the cards we made in my November Stamp Club gathering. We used the Gift Wrapped bundle to make 3 cards, and I will share the other two here on my blog this week.

Here’s what I made:

I didn’t have a gift card to use for the photo, so I used an old hotel key card, just to show how it fits in the holder.

S
Here’s what I did:
Cut and scored with my paper trimmer:
- Garden Green card stock (CS) cut to 4-1/4″ x 11″, then scored in half at 5-1/2″
- Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper (SP) layer cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″
- Playful Pets Designer Series Paper (DSP) strips cut to 3/4″ x 4″ and 3/4″ x 5-1/4″
- 2 pieces of Real Red CS cut to 3-3/4″ x 3-1/4″, and scored along the shorter side at 3/4″, 1-1/2″. 2-1/4″, and 3″
- Whisper White CS cut to 3-3/4″ x 3-1/2″ for the inside of the card base
Stamped with the Gift Wrapped stamp set:
- outer sentiment in Garden Green ink onto a scrap of Whisper White Thick CS
- bow in Real Red ink onto a scrap of Whisper White Thick CS
- inner sentiment in Real Red ink onto the Whisper White CS for the inside
- holly in Garden Green & Real Red beside the inner sentiment – I used Stampin’ Write Markers to color the holly stamp, then huffed on it to reactivate the ink before stamping
Cut using the Gift Bow Builder Punch:
Cut using the Label Me Fancy Punch:
- the outer sentiment, so that it was toward the right end of the label
Assembled the card:
- burnished the fold in the card base, and all the folds in the Real Red CS pieces, with a Bone Folder
- DSP strips adhered onto the SP layer using Stampin’ Seal
- SP layer adhered onto the front of the card base using Stampin’ Seal applied behind the DSP strips so they don’t show through the SP
- bow adhered onto the intersection of the DSP strips using Stampin’ Dimensionals
- outer sentiment adhered below the bow using Stampin’ Seal
- the 1/4″ section of each Real Red CS piece glued onto the inside of the opposite side, to form two skinny open-ended boxes
- one of the Real Red boxes glued into the corner of the inside of the card base, putting glue along the back and bottom sides of the box
- second Real Red box glued in front of the first one, putting glue along the bottom side of the box
- the two boxes glued together only at the very ends, leaving space between them for the gift card to be tucked down into
- Whisper White CS with inner sentiment glued onto the inside of the card base, in front of the Real Red boxes

I used the Don’t Stop Believin’ stamp set and Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper to decorate these Mini Coffee Cups and Mini Coffee Holder. This is a great way to give a gift of hot cocoa, K-Cups, or any small gifts. I think this elf all tangled up on Christmas lights is adorable. Actually, I think everything in this stamp set is adorable. Don’t you?

S Don’t Stop Don’t Stop Don’t Stop Don’t Stop
Here’s what I made:

S
Here’s what I did:
Cut and scored with my paper trimmer:
- Real Red card stock (CS) cut to 5-3/4″ x 2-1/4″ (2 pieces)
- Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper (DSP) cut to 5-1/2″ x 2″ (2 pieces)
- Real Red CS cut to 2-3/4″ x 2-1/4″ (2 pieces)
- DSP cut to 2-1/2″ x 2″ (2 pieces)
- DSP cut to 1-1/4″ x 4-1/2″ (2 pieces)
- Whisper White Thick CS cut to 3″ x 5/16″
Cut using Paper Snips:
- laid the coffee holder on its side and traced around the handle onto the back of the DSP strips
- cut around the traced shapes using Paper Snips, then cut about 1/8″ off the long straight side with my Paper Trimmer
- You could lay the holder over the strip so that the straight side of the handle extends 1/8″ past the edge of the DSP strip. That will keep you from having to trim off the 1/8″ afterward.
Stamped with the Don’t Stop Believin’ stamp set:
- elf in Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto a scrap of Whisper White Thick CS
- sentiment in Real Red ink onto the Whisper White Thick CS strip
- NOTE: You may find it easier to stamp the sentiment onto a larger piece of CS, then cut it down to 5/16″.
Cut using the Stitched Nested Labels Dies:
Cut using the Warm Wraps Dies:
- DSP (plaid pattern) for the cups (4 pieces)
Cut using the Classic Label Punch:
- both ends of the sentiment, by inserting the strip into the back of the punch
Colored using Stampin’ Blends Markers:
- elf in Real Red, Just Jade, and Ivory
- NOTE: I intended to use Old Olive, but for some reason picked up Just Jade instead. I didn’t realize until it was all done.
- elf’s cheeks in Flirty Flamingo
- elf’s hair in Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody
- lights in Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Just Jade, and Seaside Spray
- to color the light string, I used the small end of a Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Write Marker

Assembled the card:
- burnished the folds in the coffee holder with a Bone Folder, and folded it to assemble
- larger DSP layer glued onto the larger Real Red CS layers
- smaller DSP layer glued onto the smaller Real Red CS layers
- DSP strips glued onto the handles of the holder
- all Real Red CS layer glued onto the sides of the holder
- elf glued onto one side of the holder, near the handle
- sentiment adhered using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals onto the DSP layer and overlapping the elf
- ends of 2 die cut pieces of plaid DSP glued together to create a cup wrap, then the same done with the other 2 pieces
- wraps slipped onto the cups, from the bottom

Oct 5, 2020 | Boxes, Christmas, Gallery, Gifts, Holiday, Treat Holders |
Today I’m sharing some little treat holders I made using the Little Treat Box Dies, Christmas Means More stamp set, and Tis the Season Designer Series Paper. They hold 2 miniature KitKat bars perfectly. I tied the tops with the Whisper White 1/2″ Faux Linen Ribbon from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack It’s one of my favorite ribbons. It’s pretty and you can quickly color it with your Stampin’ Blends markers. I included one of these treat holders in the BINGO Boxes that I sent to the participants of my World Card Making Day BINGO Party. We had a great time, playing BINGO and making cards.

Sep 24, 2020 | Autumn, Blog Hop, Boxes, Cards, Gallery, Gift Wrap, Gifts, Halloween, Holiday, Kits, Paper Pumpkin |

Welcome to the September 2020 APPT Blog Hop! This month’s kit is called Hello Pumpkin, and it makes the most adorable little treat holders. I used the pieces fro the kit to make a card and a little treat box. My treat box is 4 sided, which is different from the 5 sided one designed by Stampin’ Up! for the kit. I started by popping out all the die cut pieces from their sheets, including all the diamond shapes from the treat holders, saving everything. I used Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and Multipurpose Liquid Glue, but you can certainly use the Dimensionals and Glue Dots that came in the kit.
Be sure to hop around to all the stops, so you don’t miss any of the great projects this group has made for you!

Here’s what I made:

The cat’s green eye really shows up in this photo:

S
Here’s what I did:
Cut and scored with my paper trimmer:
- Whisper White Thick card stock (CS) cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, then scored in half at 4-1/4″
- Cajun Craze CS layer cut to 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″
- Whisper White Thick CS layer cut to 5-1/4″ x 4″
- cut apart a treat holder from the kit according to the photos below
Cut along the black lines. Remove the shaded areas.

Stamped with the Hello Pumpkin stamp set:
- card sentiment in Cajun Craze ink onto a die cut label from the kit
- pumpkin in Pumpkin pie ink onto the inside of the card base
- pumpkin face in Tuxedo Black Memento ink over the pumpkin
Cut using Paper Snips:
- halved a small banner for behind the card sentiment
Colored using a Stampin’ Blends Marker:
- a small Rhinestone Basic Jewel in Dark Shaded Spruce
- NOTE: I started with the Old Olive and Mossy Meadow markers, since those are the greens in the kit, but I thought the dark Shaded Spruce showed up better against the black cat
Colored using a Sponge Dauber:
- bottom edges of the box top in Cajun Craze
Assembled the card:
- burnished the fold in the Whisper White Thick card base with a Bone Folder
- faint pencil lines drawn onto the Whisper White CS layer, vertical lines 3/4″ apart and horizontal lines 1-1/2″ apart
- diamond pieces glued onto Whisper White CS layer, using the pencil lines to arrange them evenly
- any pencil lines that still showed were erased
- Whisper White CS layer with diamonds glued onto the Cajun Craze CS layer
- Cajun Craze CS layer glued onto the front of the card base
- two halves of the small banner glued onto the back of the sentiment
- sentiment glued onto a black lace die cut piece from the kit
- two Cajun Craze flowers glued onto the bottom right corner of the sentiment, then the whole piece adhered onto the card front using Black Stampin’ Dimensionals
- black curly die cut glued onto the card front under the bottom right corner of the sentiment cluster
- green rhinestone applied onto the cat using the Take Your Pick tool
- cat adhered onto the card front above the sentiment using Black Stampin’ Dimensionals
- small pumpkin die cut adhered onto the card front, next to the cat, using Black Stampin’ Dimensionals
Assembled the treat box:
- burnished the folds in the box with a Bone Folder
- 1/4″ flap of box glued onto the inside of the opposite side, to form the body of the box
- end flaps folded in and glued together one at a time to form the bottom
Assembled the treat box lid:
- burnished the folds in the lid with a Bone Folder
- 1/4″ flap glued onto the inside of the opposite side, to form the body of the lid
- end flaps folded in and glued together one at a time to form the top
- a diamond and a black curly piece glued onto the back of a small pumpkin, then glued onto the front of the box lid
- NOTE: Since the box and the lid are the same size (width) it helps to squeeze the top of the box a little bit to get the lid over the top.
